cannot use stadia app to connect controller as device not compatible

Hi Team, help please.

All of my android devices cannot find the stadia app as they are too old (2018 models).

I have set up Chromecast no problem but now stuck on connecting the controller as i cannot get the app anywhere.

I have read various forums on this issue but all i see is people getting abuse for having older phones, be kind as my phones still work perfectly with everything apart from Stadia. It all seems a bit elitist and frankly quite weird.

Has anybody had any joy getting the app on an older phone/device without too much hassle.?

I did question why it was £20 but got sucked into the "quick ...get it, before it runs out" without researcjing fully, shame on me.
