Force Chromecast ultra to use 5Ghz wifi (Google Wifi)

Hello folks,

I have google wifi mesh setup, Chrome Ultra streaming stadia, however I cannot get the device to connect using 5Ghz frequency.

So far, Google Wifi support is useless and been passed around between chromecast support teams and wifi support teams with no resolution.

I am currently unable to stream stadia in 4k despite bandwidth checks, network checks giving excellent performance, and this is part of my troubleshooting to force the device to connect using 5Ghz freqency.

The chromecast is 1.5m from the access point, and if you're familiar with Google wifi you will know it uses band steering as opposed to being able to broadcast 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz SSID's.

Anyone else successfully dealt with it or got Stadia streaming in 4k using Google wifi?

Cheers

Pete
