If you load a version of chromium and it "works" consider it a fluke.

Only the official chrome app is supported. Just use chrome for Stadia, and use your preferred fork of chromium for everything else

Normal sites like speedtest.net are not relevant for Stadia. The only one that comes close is https://projectstream.google.com/speedtest

If your smart TV doesn't have a modern web browser, then there's no real way to tell beforehand what kind of speeds you are getting from the TV.

However, the only way to get Stadia on your TV (other than plugging a computer in via a display cable) is for the Chromcast ultra that comes with the Founders Edition. This will be no reliant on the TV for internet, so it doesn't have to be a smart TV. Just use the HDMI connector (and preferably the Ethernet adapter)

You have to meet these requirements to use Stadia.

https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9338852?hl=en

If you aren't in one of these countries, you'll have to wait until they officially support it.

If you tried to spoof your location through something like a VPN, then it might try to work (haven't tested it), but the throughput would likely be terrible and you wouldn't have a good experience with it kicking you out all the time.

No.

I've tried Brave, which is a fork of Chromium. There are a bunch of javascript console errors and other special things that the stadia site is expecting.

Yeah, they really need an option for 1440p. 4k looks great on my TV, 1080p looks great on my phone. 1440p looks muddy on my desktop...where I play my games mostly.

Hopefully they have some options/suggestions soon.
