Stadia is TRULY a love/hate relationship

I am not asking for tips on troubleshooting. I am merely venting here...

I am a founder. I am a very PROUD founder. I love the concept of Stadia and I am very excited to see how it grows into something solid. However, I feel like I am about to rip my hair out with the constant issues I have with the platform and with the hardware. Let me give a rundown of the issues:

Intermittent drops in framerate "lag" on Chromecast and PC on ANY NETWORK "home or office"

Controller disconnecting from wireless on a stable home network "Google Nest - 100gbps Fiber"

Session expired notification on laptop "Google Pixelbook Go"

Game just... NOT starting until I clear all my cookies from a previous session

Controller not reacting to input MID GAME "seems to LOVE to do it in the middle of a raid or trials in D2"

Plugged in to ethernet solves SOME issues as far as lag, but hardware issues are still the same even if the controller is plugged in with the provided cable or third party cables

SO MANY missing features that were supposed to roll out but are still unheard of "streaming, in-game messaging, family sharing, etc..."

There are PLENTY more, but I mean... what seems to be the point?

I moved from Xbox to Stadia because I wanted a breath of fresh air and LOVE to be on the bleeding edge. I hate that this is the state of the platform right now. There are some WONDERFUL and non-toxic people that play on here and I WANT TO STAY. I WANT TO LOVE THIS!!

I have communicated with tech support, I have went through the GAUNTLET that is exchanging some hardware, I have REVAMPED MY HOME NETWORK to accommodate Stadia. But nothing seems to fix it... It hurts my heart. All I wanted was something simple that worked. On paper, it sounded great but in reality... it is QUITE complicated when troubleshooting takes up more time than my gaming sessions.

My most recent feedback included a volunteer application to any new behind-the-scenes improvements that haven't rolled out to the public yet. It is my last ditch effort to not give up. I want to help improve this. I want to be able to sell this to even MORE friends and family. But I currently look like an idiot to the people I have had switch to Stadia, and I can't argue with their complaints. We are all experiencing the same issues and I see these complaints unresolved in this community and... it scares me. I do not want this to go away. I do not want people to lose hope.... but dang... Next-Gen consoles are right around the corner, Google. Some serious improvements need to be released or you'll see your player-base drop like a rock and it will be VERY difficult to get them back.

Let me know if I am alone in these thoughts. I want to help and will volunteer my free time to making sure things improve if given the opportunity. Thanks to anyone that made it this far in my rant.

Peace.

@GraceFromGoogle

Controller Case?

I would love to see a case for the controller. I plan to travel with it a lot and it would be nice to keep it protected. One similar to the Xbox Pro Controller would be perfect. Would also need a net on the inside to keep the charging cable and brick!

We have a chance to make this non-toxic.

I have been gaming since I was a young child. I am now 36 years of age and still as in love with gaming as I was back in the day. One of the unfortunate turns that I have witnessed in my years of gaming is the gradual toxicity of online gaming. I would love nothing more than for this to be something that we "as a new gaming community" can acknowledge from the start. Maybe this can be something new and clean and enjoyable for future generations. I want new players to be able to feel welcome in this community and for others to want to come on board for not only the new and fresh experiences, but to be LURED in by the joy that a new, clean gaming environment. I have two young men, that since they could hold a controller in their hands have felt and embraced the joys of gaming with me. Now, they are old enough to witness the bullying, foul language and derogatory comments of playing online. As a parent, it is my duty to observe and react to these interactions within the best of my ability. It is certainly going to happen. We cannot remove toxic behavior from everyone, but we can make a valiant effort to thwart it before it gets out of hand. Please, be considerate of other players. Help those who need help. We are all here just trying to have a good time. Maybe the person you are playing against is just getting into gaming for the first time. MAYBE they are susceptible to and hurt by verbal assault. Maybe they play games to escape this type of battery in their current life, only to find it again while they are trying to run away from it all. Gaming should be fun. Since we are all here and in this together from a new beginning, lets take advantage of it and help one another. I know this isn't technically the proper forum to bring this type of thing up, but I felt like it needed to be acknowledged. I appreciate everyone taking the time to make it this far into the rant. Best of luck to everyone and happy gaming!!
