How is your Stadia over WiFi experience on MacBook?

CCU on the TV works a charm, but I'm getting more than a little frustrated at the poor performance on Chrome. I'm using a new MacBook Pro (2019, Intel Core i9, 16Gb DDR4 RAM) and the WiFi is solid, currently measuring 40mbps download. Yet gameplay is still laggy. I haven't tried a wired connection, but surely the point of Stadia is to be able to play anywhere... If anyone has any tips, do share. I've tried the standard list of reseting Chrome Flags, Incognito mode, Chrome Canary etc. Also tried lowering the performance in the Stadia app to the lowest settings and still no joy...

I was a Founder member and have retained my membership since the monthly charges, but I'm not sure I'm getting the service i ought to be TBH

HI @ecin

I've tried running Stadia on my older MBPr, which is late-2013 model, Intel i7 2.3GHz, 16Gb DDR3 RAM. It has High Sierra installed and has no real issues. It may be that your machine is just that little bit older (there's got to be a cut-off at some point on the timeline i guess!) but thought it was worth mentioning in case there's a solution just out of reach....

Good luck!

YES @Mad_Dog_Bravo ! Resetting Chrome flags and enabling "pointer lock options" seems to have resolved my issues. A couple of small glitches, but certainly playable.

Would be good to know if this works for everyone else too?

Kudos deserved

Glad it's not only me with this issue!

"One place for all the ways we play". Quite literally; I'm sat in front of the TV at the mo!

Thanks for chiming up here. I'm in a similar position. Stadia runs perfectly using Chromecast on my TV using a wired connection; It really has been fantastic!

But the experience on my laptop has been somewhat lacklustre...

I've been through all the tips I can find: resetting Chrome; reducing data usage/performance in the app; using the Stadia extension, then disabling all extensions(!) etc... I've also tried pausing all potential network hogs - Drive and Dropbox syncs, that sort of thing. But i'm experiencing the same frustrating jitter/loss of quality/latency at regular intervals of 10 secs or so. I can't see anything untoward in my Activity Monitor (I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina).

If anyone can offer more advise, please do.
