Stadia button exits app when pressed

Playing on Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5g. Anytime I press the stadia button to try and bring up the menu, it exits out of the stadia app entirely. When I reopen the app it says "checking connection" and seems to connect due to the fact I can hear the audio but doesn't load video. I had better luck when running stadia on chrome as a desktop site, but the recent update made it where it never recognizes any controller. Tried wired stadia controller, ps4, and steelseries stratus duo via Bluetooth. I preferred playing on chrome as it would allow me to use voice chat and the app still doesn't have that functionality. Any help would be great regarding either issue. When I plug the stadia controller in it asks to enter linking code but doesn't show the controller working in chrome. Even when it works fine in a gamepad tester app. Really hoping for voice chat in the app asap, doesn't make sense why it works on chrome mobile but not in app.
