Game GYLT freezes when I open up the journal.

I just started my free trial today because I was interested in this game and to see how the stadia performs. Unfortunately early in the game when I get into the school, I see a journal and decide to read it. That's when the freezing happens, I try to press all the buttons and try to click the "back" button but nothing registers. So I tried it again after exiting and the same thing happens. Did anybody face this issue in their playthrough and if you did, was there a fix for it? Thanks
