Yeah, my thought was that it would be beneficial for Google to work with broadcasters to see about getting on their STBs, same as they do for YouTube app.

The idea being gives them access to millions of potential subscribers and from the broadcasters perspective it helps them sell boxes in other rooms (e.g. Kids rooms, dens, etc.) and potentially they could even retail subs for Google, like Sky does for Netflix.

Additional benefit of this type of deal, a lot of the broadcasters are also ISPs so have processes for setting up internal networks, mesh capability, etc. which might allay some of the concerns regarding connectivity.

I just had a thought, have Stadia given any consideration to getting their platform onto in home set top boxes other than the Chromecast?

Sky Q came to mind because I have the box and it has online connectivity, apps for thi gs like YouTube and Netflix and also Bluetooth for connecting devices like their remote controls or your phone.

Also they are in millions of homes already which makes for a ready made player base.

I'm pretty sure Virgin's current box also has internet/bluetooth along with STBs in many countries.

I think Stadia pricing is largely correct. It's not a product aimed at existing PC players.

Even if games are £10 dearer on Stadia than PC, how many games would you need to buy to cover the cost of a decent gaming PC.

Likewise for a console, how many Stadia games will you be able to buy with the same money that is required to buy a new PS4 Pro, Xbox One X or better yet, the new consoles that will be coming out.
