Stadium is basically Safari in a wrapper tricking Stadia into thinking it’s running Chrome. Every browser app on iOS can only run SafariKit, so even chrome on iOS is Safari. All it proves is that Stadia can work with Safari. Once Google optimises Stadia for Safari, we’ll just be able to go to the Stadia website, or have the stadia app open games through Safari. The reason Stadium is allowed is because it is just a web browser app that happens to let Stadia work. If Google were to allow streaming in their app, then it would violate Apple’s dumb App Store guidelines. It looks as if, for now if Apple doesn’t change its ways, Stadia will only be able to stream games to iOS devices through Safari (or any other iOS browser). Unless Google made the Stadia app kind of bloated and also include a full-fledged web browser in their app to skirt around their restrictions, there’s no way the app will be allowed to stream games according to Apple. That’s not going to happen though as it would probably make the app a lot more heavy then they want.
