Hi
thank you for your reply

The reason i need to turn off the CCU is because the leds are annoying and very bright during night, and also because it's plugged into an HDMI switch who will not turn off if there are some port powered.

Also, i don't know if CCU will solve the problem but plain Chromecast start having some issue (for instance endless buffering and stopping playing video on videostream) if it's turned on all day long forcing me to turn off, let him cool for few minutes, and then turn on again

And i did'nt mention that having electronics turned on 24/7 is something you really should'nt do for ecological reason (and yet i have something i can't turn off for obvious reason like router and telephone)

Chromecast Ultra: TV USB or switching off?

Hi everybody sorry if it's already covered on some other posts; i'm new here I was using Chromecast since 4 years ago; now i had to change to Chromecast Ultra because you need CCU to play Stadia on TV Besides, i have the need of turning off the Chromecast when not using it. With CC i used to plug into USB port of TV so CC would be turned off while turning off the TV. But CCU have only power plug cable, and removing cable from plug is not really something i whant to do 2-3 times a day... I tried powering off the CCU by pressing the button, but it just did a factory reset and a real pain to configure new device on google home. Then i tried connecting CCU into TV USB (using old CC cable) and it works; i was also able to play a bit Destiny 2 in this way. Besides i don't know if it would damage the Chromecast or if something bad will happen I need to be clear on this: i don't care for casting at 4k: my TV is not 4k capable!! so really don't care for "you need to connect to plug to see 4k"... i just need to know if there will be some bad consequencies about connecting CCU with a simple USB from TV. Or if there are some way better than unplugging it to switching off while unused. Thank You Very Much for your help!!
