To get end game gear, you have to play the "not so great" missions. But it doesn't matter now anyway. Stadia had a great concept, just no content. Required co-op missions, which are just like other single-player missions, are needed to finish playing. Not sure why it's forced multiplayer for these basic missions, but don't want to play a game that is impossible to finish single player, at least on Stadia which no one plays.
