No Dolby AC3 5.1 (not DD+)

Recently I have bought a Stadia premiere edition pack which includes a Chromecast ultra.

I have tried everything to output Dolby Digital 5.1 (not DD+) from stadia without success.

My Chromecast is connected to a Yamaha rx-v1700 AV receiver, an then it to the TV using HDMI. I am able to play 5.1 movies from VLC, also from Google TV app, but there is no 5.1 from Stadia, and neither from Netflix/Prime video.

I have forced audio output at the Chromecast settings to "only surround sound AC3" and also the same behaviour (it doesn't works).

Please Google fix this, allow normal 5.1 ac3 surround sound or even implement a Dolby digital plus downsample to normal ac3 5.1; not all users have Dolby Digital plus or even Dolby Atmos compatible devices.

Sorry to hear you are not getting surround to work. Stadia does not use Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus, it uses PCM surround sound.

So you need to try to get your setup run PCM audio.

Thank you very much, I have connected my Chromecast ultra to a HDMI port of my AV receiver, capable of process MPCM 5.1, then configured CC audio output to auto detect and now I have 5.1 MPCM sound on Stadia.

Netflix and Prime video aren't still but working, but at least I have stadia working as it should be.
