Credit card for registration for stadia pro

I'd like to try out google stadia but when i try to finish the screen for profile creation it lets me only select a credit card. I have paypal enabled as a payment method in my google account, why won't stadia let me select this method?

Before you come at me: i can not go through the app on my android, because my android is too old to even run the app. as it stands right now there is now way for me to use this service, which, you know, is bad business from stadia's side

Hello @M00pmax, happy to inform you that there is a way to use PayPal but sadly it will require a phone to do so. I understand you cannot use your phone, but here is the link containing information on how to do so on the off chance you are able to.

You should be able to play Destiny 2 as free to play by clicking this LINK.

After this your account has the standard Stadia model which is free.

After this you should be able to finish your payments if wanted.

Thanks a lot! that at least got me into the website and it appears that my profile is set up. The problem with the payment method remains, however. So even though i can now log in to stadia in google chrome i can neither purchase a stadia pro ticket nor any game that i'd like to play (i wanted to use stadia for RDR2). I wrote the customer service via facebook, i hope they respond at all. Or might this have to do with the country you're in (GER)?
It's really weird to me that they won't let you use a commonly accepted method of payment like paypal when it is even enabled in the google account you're using for the service.

No problem.

Now you notice it's a US company which is not used to debitcards.
I am from the Netherlands and also needed to get a creditcard (which get more and more common here but still isn't the standard).

So eventually I installed the Stadia app on my Android phone and used the payment method from that (PayPal).
You can use your Play Store payment method, but your Android is to old right?

Maybe add a payment options at https://pay.google.com/ ?

Yes, that's correct. My android is too old to run the stadia app, it won't even let me download it from the playstore.

Yeah, that's exactly where i already entered paypal as a payment option

Sorry I am out of options.

The only thing I can think of (by my knowledge) is getting a more up to date Android phone.
You could always try to contact Stadia support, but it is pretty busy with the Cyberpunk 2077 thing going on.

Got an answer from the customer service. Paypal is not supported for using stadia on PC.
So you either need a credit card or a suitable android phone for the app
