@Amin

I wouldn’t get too carried away, small (26 employees?) Canadian development team, that will get integrated into an existing Google studio in Canada.

But of course it is a start, and let’s be honest it is far easier to hire resources from an existing company via acquisition than going through the whole recruitment process.

Of course the game development world is known for lots of studio closures and unfinished projects, so the true test will be the quality of the games coming out of this studio and the financial success of it.

A step in the right direction, let’s hope so.

I absolutely agree with your whole entire post and thank you for your comment. This is definitely a step in the right direction and I'm happy that Google is interested in acquiring Studios. I can't wait for Google to really show the world the first party games that they have in mind.
