Anyone else finding that Stadia is barely playable through a Chromecast the last few days.

No problems with my connection just slow and glitchy and really annoying.

Its anything i play at the moment. Fifa and Hitman 3. Ive reduced the demands to 1080p and still its sluggish and poor.

Also the issue is happening only on Chromecast?

Are you using the original power cord? did you noticed any overheating on the chromecast?

I am using the original power cord and it does get hot eventually. The sluggish play is from the start.

I havent had a chance to try using the web browser or on my ipad but I will test both.

yes exact same here. i also wrote about this in another thread. "I've done everything, even troubleshooting with customer service. stadia in 4k on CCU worked just fine last week. Every other streaming service works great, speed test to google outstanding 160mb connection to san Francisco server google, barely any jitter, low latency. Even youtube server works fabulous quick. The moment i do a speed test to Stadia its like 0.5 mb - 8.0 mb Seems like the issue is with stadia. I live in Northern california and have a 1 gb connection via Suddenlink. I can only imagine google stadia servers arent that far away, so please just add more servers, or just admit to us, because having customers neurotically double check everything when theres obviously not their fault is not cool. Honesty is the best marketing"

For me, Stadia does work on my Google Fi moto g stylus phone through same wifi connection. Even when I open Stadia on the phone, CAST it to the CCU, that works perfectly. But using CCU directly works poorly?? Also when using my chrome browser and computer it works poorly. So strange, something is up

Also, support suggested changing to 50hz, and that worked initially, but not anymore.

I can understand your frustration, but this is the community forum, and Stadia Guides are members like you, so no google involved when we make question to better understand your issue, Also what is weird here is that your phone on the same wifi works fine, while your CCU and Laptop wont, this is worth investigating, I will also check the other thread you were suggesting, I really hope we can pinpoint the cause of those issue! meanwhile you should also ping the official support by going here https://support.google.com/stadia/?hl=en#topic=9634925 and in the bottom part you will find the contact us option

This remind me something, do you have a double SSID with 5ghz and 2.4ghz with the same name? if yes try to change the name of one of those to something else, I had similar issue because my chromecast/laptop were bouncing between the two connection instead of staying stable on one

Hiya @weazil,

If you can also try to play on your mobile phone using WiFi and if possible with your mobile network.
Just to rule out some things.

Are you using WiFi or your Chromecast Ultra connected with a ethernet wire?

Did you try a hard reset of your Chromecast Ultra?

Other thing you can try (last resort) is using the preview software to see if that helps if the Hard reset doesn't work (you can join the preview program within the Home app)

It was markedly better on my laptop and mobile on wifi.

Ill hard reset my Chromecast and see if that fixes the issue when I play that way.

Its running on the WIFI I find its shocking when cabled in.

Still running like hot garbage. Really disappoinitng as Fifa for seconds looks great then descends into this mess.

I did and it still wasnt having it. At least it runs ok on my laptop.
