When are we getting the ability to send someone a TXT message in game?

I find it difficult to collaborate with other players on games without being able to send messages. I just get invites to games or parties(while already in a party) with no idea what the person sending in the invite wants to do in game, or needs help with(example: Destiny 2 raid). I have no idea as to why someone is sending me a friend request(I don't add people I don't know, unless it is to collaborate on something as a team.

We need TXT, because voice chat is soooo bad, I don't even use it. I cannot hear others, and they cannot hear me.

Is messaging a planned feature? If so, is it coming this year?

I agree on having a chat function is useful.

But I don't have any issues with voice chat within Stadia. This works great except for the volume that doesn't match automatically with your game. I had to turn down some in-game volumes.

No issues with voice chat for me, but I agree 100% that we need a messaging system, and a way to use our phone to type messages in games with built in systems while playing on chromecast. Controller typing takes fotever and a half
