Why Khoros?

This forum software seems to be from 10 years ago.

The interface manages to seem too empty and too bloated at the same time.
If you are in a topic and you want to see wich post is an answer to which other post, the only possibility is to change to threaded view, which is awful.
No possibility to blockquote (seriously, wtf?)
Does not integrate well into the Stadia look-and-feel
Many other quality-of-life features other forums do have are missing. Just take a look at Discourse for example

who on earth made the decision to use Khoros and why? Can't be money, right?

I'm not going to defend Khoros as being the greatest platform in the world. But, if the alternative was the support.google.com community forum, this is a better option. Stadia would have ended up looking like the Nest Community over there, with a single giant message board and tag-style categories. That platform doesn't have real threading either – just posts and sequential replies. I would expect things to evolve here as well.

I dont mind it I guess. I just wish the software allowed users to change their usernames. I impulsed this name on launch and now I'm stuck with it for life.
