Hi everyone

Hope this helps someone if they're finding it absolutely painstaking to pair the stadia controller with CCU

The stadia controller just would not pair with my chrome so came up with a solution.

I used my mobile as a hotspot and clicked on share wifi with other devices as an option, I then reset my CCU and stadia controller and used my android tablet to connect both the controller and CCU to my mobile hotspot (make sure it's on share wifi as you don't want to use your data)

After this, I then reconnected the CCU to my main wifi leaving the Stadia controller hooked up to the hotspot (if you stop at this stage it will be a temporary solution as the controller would need the hotspot all the time)

I then pressed the stadia button on the controller till it vibrated twice and paired it with my main wifi and walla.....works flawlessly

I'm not sure why I had to go through using another device as a hotspot but hey...it worked.

Hope this helps someone

You may have some luck hard resetting the controller. You can do this by pressing and holding the Google Assistant and Capture buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds, until the controller vibrates. Then try the setup again afterward. Appreciate the tip for those that need it though!

Hi Dan,

I was on the phone with google for at least an hour trying to get this to work, also did this and it didn't work. It only worked when I hooked up the CCU and controller to the 2ghz wifi, unfortunately the connection was dire, this was the only fix to get it on the 5ghz network

What worked for me is i used my phone as a hotspot to connect both the chromecast ultra and the stadia controller, I used my Samsung S20 as the hotspot and my Kindle tablet for the set up. You can't use the same phone to set up the CCU and stadia controller if you're using it as a hotspot. My galaxy S20 allows me to "share wifi" connection so I made sure that was switched on else it would be using the phone data.

Once the CCU and Stadia controller are connected to the hotspot, I then change the wifi on the CCU back to my main wifi and walla...it works perfectly
