Linking controller to Chrome

I got my controller today and successfully linked it to Chrome. After shutting down the laptop and powering up again and going back to Stadia, it asked me to enter the 4 'move' controller combination again. Will it ask me to do this every time??

The same happens to me. Yes, you need to link your controller everytime.
