Received my code today, still awaiting the controller. Initial testing on Chrome browser was very positive. That said, I have a Pixel 3 XL - is there no way to do any gaming via Stadia on the phone without a connected controller? Aside from the immediate desire to try it out, it would be nice to be able to enjoy Stadia from time to time without necessarily having to carry around the extra equipment.

@Toxin I tried it earlier on Pixel 3 XL. The game won't launch unless you have a controller connected, either through USB or bluetooth.

I tried using Switch Pro controller using USB C to C cable, didn't work. Then I paired an Xbox One controller through bluetooth and it works flawlessly. If you have a spare bluetooth controller laying around, definitely worth a shot.

Hey @Ivan did you have any issues with the view button on your Xbox controller? I'm trying to play Destiny on my Pixel 4XL with bluetooth Xbox controller, all buttons are mapped correct and work great except for the view button. I can't pull up the director because the view button acts as a back button for Android as a whole.

I'm a PC player so not quite familiar with the Xbox terminology lol.

You will need a controller as no touch screen compatibility yet. Maybe future? Grabbed my Xbox One, the OTG adapter that came with my 3a and micro USB cable. I'm surprised at how well it works with the 3a.

Thanks, Ivan. Shame they can't allow a virtual controller, but I suppose the number of controls needed wouldn't interface well on the screen. Ah well, tomorrow... And have to log the controller around with me everywhere to get my gaming fix.

I used to lug around my gaming laptop whenever I go on work travel. Lugging around a controller is definitely going to feel much better
