Just wanted to check in with those of you that seem to be having issues with the refund process. Let me clarify.
If you received an email saying something along the lines of "stadia has issued a refund... it may take several days for the refund to appear on your statement," then this is only confirming that the refund has been started not necessarily that the refund was successful. If unsuccessful you should email another email asking to fix your form of payment in gPay.
We can't promise any specific time frame on when everyone will receive these follow up emails other than we are doing our very best to make sure everyone receives their refunds before the Stadia closure in January 2023.

If the banking institution does not accept the refund, we will email you with instructions on the steps you’ll need to take to receive your refund. The process of getting money back into your account can vary depending on each individual banking institution. So keep an eye out. Just as a reminder we are doing everything we can to make sure that refunds are finalized before servers shut down in January 2023. Thank you,

It looks like this thread hasn't been updated in a while. As of right now, here is a list of officially supported controllers. So first things first is make sure you are using one of the supported Xbox controllers.
I personally don't have these devices so I can't attempt this setup myself. However, I do know that XBox controllers do need certain drivers to pair with a Mac computer. I do not have any info on if the update last year to Monterey changed those drivers or if Apple has done any type of update to allow these controllers to link. If anyone has any updates as to how this is going, please let us know. If not, we'll go ahead and close this conversation in another day or so.
