Hey @Kadesman, @Cass183, @jsc315 and @Timduke1970, You all can check with your bank in this case. If the refund went through successfully even though your payment method is inactive/expired now (refund can still take up 3-5 days, sometimes even longer), then the bank may have received the money. In case the refund is not successful, you would get an email from Google to ask you to provide an alternate payment method. Q: I no longer have the form of payment I used to make the purchase. How will I get a refund? A: In many cases, the banking institution will still accept the refund, and we recommend that you reach out to them to receive your funds. If the banking institution does not accept the refund, we will email you with instructions on the steps you’ll need to take to receive your refund. Source: Stadia Announcement FAQ Hope this helps!

This "auto-response" is actually the best you can do atm, check with the bank. Sure it's more hassle if you don't have an account with them. The other option is you wait longer and see if the refund fails, in which case you would get an email from Google with instructions for an alternate payment method. And if you haven't received the refund by Jan 18 2023, you can also get in touch with the Stadia support.

Hey @jazzuka, I would be patient and give them some time. Usually refunds are processed within 3-30 days, depending on the payment method. So after like 5-10 days, I would recommend to check with your bank (or the issuer of mypaysafecard) to see if they got the refund. If the refund will be unsuccessful, you will receive an email from Google with instructions for an alternate payment method.

Hey @hmpstr, I would say there's no harm in pushing back in your open ticket. Just write the support an email back and then you should receive an answer soon. I would recommend that also over contacting them again, because then you would have to explain everything again, so it's easier if the original case is being dealt with from my perspective. But yeah, I imagine the team must be quite busy now, so maybe they also need a bit more time to come back to you.

Be aware though it may take some days until the refund would arrive at your bank (usually 3-5 days, but can take longer). Google will first attempt to get the refund via your original payment method and sometimes the bank still gets the money, even when the card is expired by now. In case the refund is not going through, you should receive an email with further instructions for an alternate payment method.

Nope @protor99, they shut down Stadia completely as a product, so it means website + app and servers, so you can't continue with Stadia in any way after Jan 18, 2023. What you can do though is download your Stadia data (e.g. your game save files) and check with the developers of the games if you can purchase the game on another platform (for example Steam, Gog, etc.) and see that you can use that save file to continue your game on this other platform.

For me it looks like you bought it on Stadia, so if that's the case for Cyberpunk, then yes you should receive a refund. But you can also give Google a bit more time, they have started on November 9 with processing the refund and stated they will need until Jan 18 2023 to be processed, so there's still some time left in your case. I also only got some games refunded and for some I still need to wait, so yeah I guess it all comes back to patience.

But tbh I believe we can just wait a bit longer here, because Google is still processing refunds and they stated it would be completed by Jan 18 2023, so there's still time left. It's possible their teams started first with the games and later they will do the hardware.

If the refund went through successfully (which can still take up 3-5 days, sometimes even longer), then the bank may have received the money. In case the refund is not successful, you would get an email from Google to ask you to provide an alternate payment method. How long a refund needs to be processed always depends on the payment method that has been used, but for banks it's usually 3-5 days, but I would allow 14 days before checking with them just to be sure. All refunds should be processed by Jan 18 2023 as Google stated. Q: I no longer have the form of payment I used to make the purchase. How will I get a refund? Yeah if you have provided an alternate payment method, then I guess best option here is to wait and see. Google is still processing all the refunds, so it may take a while until everything is finished, and their goal is still 18th January 2023. Also processing a refund to a bank can take 3-5 days, sometimes even longer, so it makes sense to let some days pass and then check with your bank or on your bank statement if the refund went through.

You can also check with your banks, guys, just in case that even though your cards were inactive, the bank itself may still have gotten the refund. So by contacting them you can check this out. But yes as Ivan said, if the refund would be rejected, just keep your eyes peeled on an email from Google asking you to provide an alternate payment method.
