codesplice's Accepted Solutions

@BetinMaki I believe you will receive the code within one week of Cyberpunk's release (so the next few days).

@BlueMarble Are you still unable to claim the Armor of the Stadium? And, just to confirm, did you claim the armor in Connect upon completing the demo? I don't think it was an automatic thing. I finally started Immortals Fenix Rising last night and (having read this thread) the first thing I did was open up Connect in-game to verify that the already-claimed Armor of the Stadium reward was waiting for me. I could then access the in-game store, scroll over to the Connect tab, and add it to my inventory. I was then able to equip the armor visual customization without a problem. Are those the same steps you're taking?

@tjbadger92  That drove me nuts too, but I found out that you can force the controller to re-enter linking mode when you turn it on so that it won't assume which TV you want to play on: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9565956 When the Stadia Controller is off, press and hold the Stadia button   for three seconds until it vibrates twice. Note: This can be useful when   switching screens   wirelessly to another device. For example, when switching between your TV and computer.   So instead of holding the button for one second to turn it on, I hold it for three to enter linking mode and I can then connect it to whatever screen I happen to be using - without it trying to hijack the TV that my wife is streaming Netflix on.

@Khills95 It would be interesting to see if/how that could be implemented from a technical standpoint since none of the gaming instances are stateful. I imagine the game would have to be contructed in such a way as to allow mods/addons to be integrated into the save file rather than merged into the game data itself... but I'm just guessing here.   All the same, I'd encourage you to use the in-app feedback option to let the developers know it's something you'd like to see.

@janrickmer Unfortunately I don't know of a way to finish the account creation process without accepting the free trial, and that does require a card number to sign up. The easiest way forward may be to get a prepaid card with enough of a balance to cover the one-month subscription - not that it will be used, but I think they use an authorization hold to make sure you're good for it.  Alternatively, I use a free service from privacy.com to generate virtual card numbers which debit directly against my checking account. That's really handy when buying things online too since if a merchant has a breach I don't have to worry about getting a new card.

@GingeRNutZ Absolutely! You link it the same way. I've got a controller I regularly switch between my Chromecast, Chromebook, and phone. Just be sure to enter the linking code as soon as you power on the controller, before it has a chance to automatically connect to the Chromecast that your wife is using to watch a show. Don't make the same mistake as me. https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9605175

The games are rendered on the server for a fixed aspect ratio (16:9). Mobile phones have all sorts of different screen aspect ratios. The Stadia app will maximize the size of the game video to use as much of the screen as possible but it can't do anything about the aspect ratio. If it doesn't match, you get the black bars on either side to make up the difference. The alternatives would be to stretch the video horizontally to fill the width of the screen (distorting the image in the process) or to zoom in to fill the screen (losing content at the top and bottom). The server where the game is running doesn't care if you're on a TV, computer, tablet, or phone. It renders the game exactly the same.

Each month brings new Pro games which you can claim, and they'll be yours for as long as you maintain a Pro subscription - but each month also sees older Pro games rotate back out.  If you want to play GRID right now you'll need to purchase it. The good news is that you can play purchased games without needing to maintain a Pro subscription, so you could continue to play even after your trial runs out without needing to pay anything else.

@Crowrezin You make some great points there. Please also be sure to use the Feedback option inside the Stadia app to make sure your comments get seen by the development team.
@Yonathan_YT I'm afraid we haven't heard much about Stadia's plans for future expansion. I'd encourage you to follow @GoogleStadia on Twitter to keep up with any such announcements.
@Casevillan Interesting, I've not noticed that with any of my Pixels on Android 11. Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Stadia app to see if that might clear it up?
@RXShorty Much better info than what I was able to track down, even straight from Konami... Thanks!
