I came across this thread in 2022. It's old, but worth updating the data with something relevant.  Stadia still doesn't allow Steam library support - ie. you can't connect and play games you already own on steam.  However, NVIDIA's game streaming service (Nvidia Now) does allow store connections (Steam being one of them).  If the game is owned on Steam, and available by NVIDIA's service, then it unlocks and can be played/streamed.  This is the only reason I don't use Stadia.

@Xevioso, I realize this is 2 years old, but for anyone coming across this thread - consider that NVIDIA Geforce NOW - which allows store connections (such as steam.) NVIDIA Now is a competitive service to Stadia,  a difference being, on NVIDIA Now, you can connect multiple stores (Steam being one) and any game you own on that store,  and available by NVIDIA Now, is then unlocked for play w/o additional costs.  Stadia can and should allow Steam access.
