Just received the controller, it won't update via the stadia android app. It connects to the Wi-Fi but fails at updating (blinks orange and white but seemingly times out). The app says that if it fails multiple times , wait an hour and try again, doing that for the past 2 days, rebooted the router and pressed the assistant and screenshot buttons on the controller for 6 seconds to get the factory reset reboot. Also tried using my phone as a WiFi hotspot to update. Nothing so far has worked. Any suggestions?

Wondering if anyone got this resolved yet? I also purchased a qualifying game, during the correct dates, with the correct email address, in the US, checked my spam folder and never received the promo code. I filled out the form and have a Case ID of 5-4084000031791 but still no word.
