Hi James, unfortunately the incognito window does not make a difference in my case. I am now on Chrome  Version 96.0.4664.93 (arm64) and macOS Monterey 12.1, The Xbox controller ( Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 ) is definitely connected as I am able to open Launchpad with it and it also works fine in other applications as explained. It is just that Stadia behaves as if no controller was connected. In the meantime I also tried the PS5 controller and this works without problems. So it is just the Xbox controller that won't work for me in combination with Stadia. I also tried to get it working on an intel Macbook with macOS Big Sur, same problem.   Best wishes, Kerstov

Hi James, thank you for getting back to this topic. I can confirm that I can use the Xbox controller with other types of applications. It also works in the browser with other applications (tested with Xbox Cloud Gaming). I did not run Stadia in an incognito window.
I am experiencing the same issue. The Xbox controller is connected to my Macbook via Bluetooth and works fine usually but is not picked up by stadia in google chrome (macbook air m1, macos 12.0.1).
