In addition to the comments about major titles like Fortnite, Rocket League, and other free games just to get users on the platform to begin with, you NEED to get rid of the requirement to use a credit card to sign up. It's so hard to get people to play games with me on the service that should be all about convenience. It'd be amazing if people that have an existing gmail account can just sign in, pick a username and picture, and get a list of free games to add to their library and go. I'm trying so hard to get more people on the platform but I cannot understand why you put so many hoops to jump through to get people to start playing. As for the other point PUBG instead of Fortnite is a step in the right direction as much as giving me an Echo instead of a Google Home for Christmas is a step in the right direction. Hint: I'm typing this on a Chromebook while listening to music on my Pixelbuds, my Google Home just reminded me to make a phone call a few minutes ago; i.e. an Echo is the right idea but the wrong choice, as is PUBG. You just need to let Epic Games go without paying fees on the Play Store like they offered you before and the service will be instantly resurrected JUST by running this advertisement with Fortnite instead of PUBG and making it easier to access the free tier. Once you have the numbers that will bring to the platform then you can get AAA titles. Even though many of them will be free to play only, they will bring friends with them that aren't. It's not like Google is going to go broke from not collecting Play Store fees from Epic Games. Throw money at Epic until you can get the games that people actually want or just go ahead and kill Stadia. Edit to add: I don't play Fortnite. I do play Rocket League. But this is about being realistic about what will draw users. Get those addicted Fortnite addicted squeakers whose mom took their xbox on the platform and you will instantly have numbers that AAA developers will actually care about.
