Kona is great.. Problem is.. It was great 4 years ago.. and its still great on the PC where I can buy it outright for $2.  The only good thing about giving away Kona is it was criminally underrated the first couple of times it came out on other platforms.. so at least a few more people will get to play it.  Same for Metro 2033.. I mean.. it was already a Redux 6 years ago.. the original was 10 years ago.. everyone has already played this, so again.. just filler to fulfil the requirement to give me some value (debatable) for my pro sub.     Did anyone at @StadiaTeam consider trying to get the developers (who apart from a VR port haven't done anything else for 4 years).. to actually make a NEW Kona game for Stadia?
For me the stadia experience and streaming is amazing... The problem specifically with crayta is that it is an utter waste of bandwidth. It's terrible.

It's just overall fairly dissapointing Unfortunately. The controller feels like you are playing an old game with 4 directional digital input on a modern analog controller. Try the popular game where you have to avoid danger.. the biggest danger by far is the inability to properly control the character.    There's very little direction on what you are doing, and once you do figure it out and get into any of the top games.. they are terrible.  The overcooked clone (another one of the popular headliners).. is very poor, the mechanics are just not there to make it worth playing.  I've tried a fair old range of the content and all of it is bad. I can't see myself bothering to fire it up again. I'm glad I didn't pay for it as I'd be outraged.

Might be an idea to get it working with all the features (at least wirelessly) on the pixel phone first though eh?

You can get new cheaper than I listed in almost all cases too, especially if you count places like g2a and cd-keys, however the grey nature of those is an unfair comparison. I compared major retailers that have fast availability (either collectable in store same day, or by next day delivery) specifically to try and make it fairer. I would be interested to see exactly what level of changes are required in porting to stadia.. I'd say it's fairly common to outsource ports to smaller developers often in countries where the labour cost is cheaper, and that most post release porting is not actually done by the original development teams, which should make it less costly. There is also an argument  (for most of the games that had been released long ago on other platforms before stadia) that all the costs of initial development of a game have already been covered in the pricing of the initial release on the launch platforms, and therefore for a relatively minor (in comparison to new development) outlay of porting they are pricing as if they need to recoup the full cost of development when in actual fact the lower cost (using the now paid for base game) should lead to cheaper pricing for the ports as it's nearly all profit this time round.  The problem for Google with the developers set the pricing argument is that to your average man on the street... It really doesn't matter. If a game is half price or better in most cases, people (including me so far) will choose the cheaper version. If Google don't plan to spend a significant amount on developing full first party exclusives, then they have to actually compete on pricing where it counts which isn't the full retail pricing on Xbox game store. (Where they are much much closer but still usually slightly more expensive)

I love Stadia the technology is amazing, and the gameplay experience is pretty good.. however the UK game pricing isn't comparable to what we pay for games, meaning I just can't actually bring myself to buy games for it, which surely will hurt the service in the long run.      Here's the current pricing as of tonight vs what i could buy right now either online at a major UK retailer, or in a store less than 10 miles from my home for the same version of the game on XBOX One (new):              The couple without prices were either out of stock near me or not available next day free postage so i didn't include them as I guess speed of delivery is a major factor on stadia, so while i could pay less id have to wait.. everything else id expect to get next day in the UK.   Id pay a bit more for the convenience, but in most cases its not even close. I didn't try and find the cheapest games on Xbox one either, I just did a quick google and found a price from a large to huge UK retailer of games.. if you go to some of the smaller guys or eBay you can pay less of course but that wouldn't be a fair comparison. Im assuming this will get removed, however i'm not actually trying to be negative, its a constructive feedback on the state of pricing in the UK, which I assume doesn't equate the same in the US.
That's going to damage the usb port over time, you need at least some support under the controller, not just spiked up on a port held in place by solder.

I had a perfectly legitimate post marked as spam and then deleted also, I assume because I was pointing out a visible way to test the input lag.  It was a constructive criticism in the hopes that Google could fix it, and not a straight forward negative post.  I appealed and it was still deleted, which I assume was a misguided attempt to make things look nice and rosy over here. It kinda worked in the opposite way though as I stopped telling people how good stadia was and instead tell them that it's main feedback method is censored so I suspect it won't improve on future.  The post is below in screenshot form if you'd like to decide if I was too negative..

Not only is Samurai Shodown a terrible title, giving it away free has actually provided everyone with a way to see the lag.   Try and complete the "Just Defence" basic training and you can see it clear as day. When the opponent starts to swing you have to hold left to defend. I challenge anyone to pass that training without preempting the attack by luck, if you hold left as soon as the character moves you'll fail over and over again.    I'd convinced myself there was no noticeable lag whilst playing destiny 2, but it's very evident in this particular section of Samurai Shodown.  To be clear I still love the device, and service but the lag IS very obvious here.

The good news is... When it is working it's really good.
@Sparky @considered it.  Is it worth the price? I've been waiting to hear from a normal buyer rather than a review
It's down on all platforms not just stadia.    It is however unfortunate that the other 'free' game is terrible.
It is.  This one's not technically Google's fault, but if they'd given us a decent second game maybe there's be less people trying to play which I assume is contributing the the issue.
No we didn't. I don't know what you guys in the us signed up to, but in the UK it was a fully launched product that we bought.
I had one game to play (Samurai Shodown is terrible), and now I cant play that as Destiny is down. Argh.

What type of adapters did you get? Does the outside of the box say GB at the end of the second barcode? Do they look like this? If so you can push up the middle pin... It's actually not that obvious if you've not seen one before I guess, and Google didn't put much thought into documentation.. they didn't mention where or how you'd get a code in the product, they didn't bother telling you where to get the app or even what it's called (I know that's fairly obvious) but still there's plenty of paper in the box they could have included some basic instructions!

Yeah if those prices ARE the black Friday discounts (i.e Worst Case Scenario).. then the pricing is going to be noncompetitive, even with the pro discounts.  Most games on a Pro/BF deal are on the edge of reasonable (considering its not a well established product at this stage etc etc) versus UK retail, so if they are specials that we wont be seeing usually, that's going to be bad for google sales. Gracefromgoogle did say in the pinned announcement the deals were live now in the store.. which is a little worrying.
