yeah you dont have to use another save slot. You can play online and offline and even continue to play and replay the game on the Same Saveslot / character, even after you have completed the game. Atleast this is my experience so far, but with bethesda account. But if you die in the game, the points, exp, coins, your character gathered and floppy disks, they all remain as far as I am aware. So thats why I assumed the game also saves after each "death." I never lost progress tho, and I never used any manual save feature. And ofcourse tried changing save slot and it seems to work fine for me. I can acces my low level character and world progress save slot, and high level character and world progress and save slot. I just happened to use two save slots, but its not necessery. So thats why I checked out for you if it works when I acces another save slot and launch the game. And it seems to work simply fine for me. The retro game, is a minigame that can be accesed inside the maingame. You walk up in the maingame to an old arcade machine/box, and you hear like low bit music and sound, and you can enter that arcade machine box and play it as if your ingame character is now playing the old classic wolfenstein 3d game of decades ago. I found this in the catacombs, which is the main hub of the game. I think you can pretty much hear the sound of the oldschool arcade machine box playing low bit music, if you come close. It's for sure in the catacombs, the main hub after you find and defeat general winkler, the first mission of the game. Last time I played, the first checkpoint I found after finding winkler. So even if I failed to defeat winkler, I would be able to start playing from there.
