@Matt1  I would suggest downloading the Discord app. The great thing about Discord is that it gathers all of the latest Stadia updates and discussions from various sites such as Twitter and Reddit for you automatically so that you don't have to have an account for each of them.

Even though you have to buy an expansion, I think this still bodes well for Destiny 2's growth, because $24.99 is a pretty low barrier for entry.
@ARGAH  Thank you! I hadn't seen that. All of this confusion could have been avoided if Team Stadia had just communicated this to their community.

Praise the Lord!  This will help bring a lot of new players into Destiny 2 when stadia base launches. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that literally no one saw this coming (that Stadia would provide free to play games with no strings attached). It also bodes well for the platform because this makes it likely that games like Fortnite and Warframe will be coming and can draw more users to Stadia who may be hesitant to purchase games at retail prices at first. The only shame is that we had to wait until the 11th hour to find this out because neither Stadia nor Bungie could be bothered to say anything about it, so unfortunately a lack of communication on this platform is still an issue.

@Deleted User  posted " I'm sure information will be coming here in the following week".  Mine and many other pro subscriptions expire this Friday, and it would be a shame if the only method we have to find out what our options are is to hope that we discover some version of Destiny 2 in the store when our subscriptions lapse. So ARGAH's concerns are actually quite reasonable.

I agree providing it for free wouldn't work, but perhaps selling base users the Collection package and then making them buy all future expansions/seasons could work while giving all pro subscribers future expansions/seasons for free through the pro subscriber add-on? This might minimize the free to play uproar since all of the expansions and seasons in the Collection package have a significant monetary value that someone would have to buy in order to play.

I believe I've discovered a new Destiny 2 item in the store that wasn't there at launch. If you select Destiny 2: The Collection in the store and then scroll down, in the "Add-ons in this bundle" section there's an item called "Stadia Pro Access (Destiny 2: The Collection)", which I don't believe used to be there. I wonder if they created this add-on so that there would be a way to differentiate between pro subscribers who get all Destiny content for free and base subscribers who would have to pay for access to expansions, seasons, etc.?

You make some really good points and I'm afraid you may be right. The only hope I'm holding onto is that the game in the pro subscription isn't Destiny 2: New Light, it's Destiny 2: The Collection, so I'm hoping maybe they'll be selling The Collection to base customers, which could turn it into another game they can sell and help boost how many people are actively playing it.

What I want to do is cancel my pro subscription and then purchase Destiny 2 + content, but it appears we still don't know how Stadia is going to offer Destiny in the store, whether they're going to sell it or offer the free to play version with the option of buying content. Since Google and Bungie remain silent on the issue, I guess my only option is to wait until my subscription lapses on the 21st and then see how it's offered in the store (unless anyone has heard different).

@ShoI understand where you're coming from with Destiny 2 because I was the same way at as a single player Halo fan, but since then I have come around to really enjoying Destiny 2 as a solo player. By "assault rifle", I assume you mean either an auto rifle or a pulse rifle, and the easiest way to get one and also level up pretty fast is to just play through the first Destiny 2 campaign, which is actually a lot like Halo. Before you know it, you'll have plenty of assault rifles and just about every other type of weapon pretty quickly, and it won't be too long till your leve willl be caught up with the average Destiny 2 player. My time is taken up with the equivalent of 2+ jobs and I play very casually just a few minutes here and there when I can, and I am already at level 906, which is considered to be higher level grinding territory. What I've been doing is just slowly doing research on the different parts of the game as I play and it hasn't taken me that long to become pretty knowledgeable about its systems, and I'm really enjoying it. Since you sound a lot like me as a player, I would encourage you to just play all of the way through the campaign and tinker with the rest in between and I think you might be pleasantly surprised.
@Geraldo @Ranger Couldn't agree more with both of you ☺

From what I understand, free to play games might not be possible for Google financially because they would have server costs to host such games but wouldn't have a way to make any money from them? If that's the case, then it makes you wonder if the only option they will provide to Stadia base users is to sell a bundle package for such games, such as selling the Destiny collection bundle instead of making the free to play version available.

I'm very happy with Stadia. I have average internet but it performs very well for me. It has given me the ability to get back into gaming by playing cutting edge games without gaming hardware. I'd like more games to be available but have plenty to play until then. When people are shelling out for next gen consoles next year, Stadia won't become obsolete like the PS4 and Xbox1 and should be able to play a variety of next gen titles.
