Thanks for the reply @RXShorty ,   I hadn't done a factory reset of the Chromecast, but I did last night. Unfortunately, to no avail. I do have a very slightly odd wireless network setup, I have a 2.4 and 5 GHz network running the same SSID which is what I am connecting both the Chromecast and controller to, but my APs form a mesh network (bt whole home WiFi), so there is a chance that they have connected to different APs even though there is one much closer than the others. The separate points *shouldn't* provide any difficulties communicating across them, and this topology is completely invisible to any of my other network devices, but apart from a hardware fault it's all I can envisage creating these issues.   Tonight, the issue seems a little different. I managed to get it working last night, but then today the Stadia controller booted the Chromecast and started the Stadia app. It even managed to link the controller to the Chromecast. Then the Stadia asked me to add my Stadia account to the Chromecast. When I tried to do this with my phone it failed after a timeout. I then tried to start the game with my phone and the play icon does absolutely nothing when I press it - it now appears my phone can't fully connect to the Chromecast even though the controller now can!   I guess I am narrowing this down to a network issue, but I wondered whether others had seen any similar unusual behaviours with slightly complex network setups.   Your message reminded me about the Ethernet socket on the Ultra. I've now wired it up to the nearest AP (but this AP then uses the wireless mesh network to connect to my router) unfortunately, it made no difference. Thanks for the suggestion however .

Hello,  I've searched and not found anyone with a similar problem to me here, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.   For a while, my Stadia controller has been tricky to connect to my Chromecast. It has worked fine for about a year, but recently I press the Stadia button, it turns the controller on, the TV on, and starts booting the Stadia app on the Chromecast. Eventually after some odd vibrations and colours changing from flashing white to solid white to flashing orange the controller hasn't connected and the Chromecast is asking me to link a Stadia controller. When I open the app on my phone, it tells me that it has been unable to link to the screen. This is odd as obviously it is connected to the network as it is able to start the TV and Chromecast with no other input than the controller button.   Previously, powering the controller off at this point and then on with Y to reconnect it to the wi-fi network worked, but it was a pain to keep on re-entering my wi-fi password everytime I wanted a quick game.   In an attempt to get a more satisfactory long term fix, I just did a factory reset, and unfortunately it has made the problem worse as now my little fix isn't even getting it to connect.   Is this a known issue? Any advice appreciated, I'm sure you can all appreciate, I'm not particularly enjoying paying for the pro subscription and being unable to use it!   Many thanks
