Though I cancelled my subscription within the one month free trial period last year, I still got charged for two additional months. Stadia support wasn't too helpful in resolving the issue. Somehow, the help request got routed to Google Pay and they would politely ask me to go contact Stadia. After two rounds, I gave up. T he charges have now stopped, but this is not what I expected when I was offered a "free" trial. Google usually has better service than this. Maybe it's because this was a new business.
