I just wanted to share my experience with Stadia with the community. I've had it since Jan. 27, 2021 and think it's absolutely amazing and fantastic. I'm 32, tech savvy, and really like it when a different idea or perspective is applied to an established norm; in this example traditional console gaming. When it comes down to it there is one video game that I really care about and have no hesitation or issues paying whatever the full retail price is when first released. So when I saw that FIFA 21 would be coming to Stadia I knew I was getting one. For a little background on me, my first gaming system was an SNES, then a Gamecube, and lastly a Xbox 360 which is in a box somewhere and I last played in years ago. I skipped the entire last generation of Playstation and Xbox. I'm not really into playing games on my phone either; other than UNO and PES Soccer Manager but I digress. For someone like me that doesn't care about the hype of the new consoles Stadia has been a truly new and eye opening experience. I never would have thought playing recent/new video games on my tv with a controller would be possible without a console. Two things that attracted me to Stadia was 1. the overall cost 2. the flexibility. It's been the lowest cost of entry to play video games and I've had no issues or complaints using it so far. The cost of acquiring a new gen console is not cheap and good luck getting one with how the current demand and supply is. I knew I wanted to get the Premiere edition because I prefer the traditional controller and play on tv experience. Especially with a nice 4K tv and a good internet speed to take advantage of. Retail the Premiere edition is $99.99. I purchased mine brand new off eBay for $54.90 with shipping. Like are you kidding me?? Nothing gets me more hyped than a great deal and savings. It was a breeze to set up; downloaded the app on my iPhone, set up the chromecast ultra (I 100% recommend hardwiring an ethernet into the power brick), and then set up the controller. After getting Stadia Pro up and running I claimed all the available games like Destiny 2, Hitman, Journey to the Savage Planet, and others. I've only spent significant time playing Destiny 2, which I've become a fan of and some of Journey to the Savage Planet. I'm definitely a Borderlands fan as well, but since playing Destiny 2 for the past couple weeks I have no urge to buy or play Borderlands 3. Not to mention it was still full price at $59.99 up until recently. With Destiny 2 I really like the storyline, I've leveled up my character (Hunter *1255, Rank 7), joined a clan, and made an online buddy who helped me on a mission that really helped move the game forward for me. And now since I want to be able to play the entire game I purchased the Legendary Edition today and saved $42 with a first time Pro user discount and whatever current promotion they have right now. So, all that Destiny 2 has to offer for $37.99. For less than $93 total I've been able to do and experience all of this and to me that is a complete game changer. Stadia may not be for everyone just yet. I know for me it's perfect and I excitedly wait for March 17th and the release of FIFA 21. And also to the rest 2021 to see what other games come out and how the user experience continues to be. All the best to everyone.
