I have no updates, but can add to the speculation. The Stadia user base is so small that it’s not a priority for EA to port these games over. They promised Google “winter,” which officially goes to mid-March. This is why it’s taking so long. Madden and Fifa sell 10s of millions of copies on all other consoles. Stadia? It may sell a million. We’re not talking about a huge user base here. It’s not Google’s fault — they’ve been marketing it better these past four months, as that’s how I heard about it and joined — but until more people realize how awesome Stadia is and start using it, it doesn’t make sense for EA to put developers on any of these games— other than to meet any contractual obligations they have to Google, presumably. (And I have to wonder if Google is pitching in, frankly.) I’ll still pay a bit to play Madden and Fifa on the Stadia whenever they arrive, though, just so I never have to reboot my PS4 again. So slow loading! Ugh! No matter what, Madden 21 will be out on the Stadia by the middle of next season, Dec 1 I believe, as that’s when the rights to this year’s NFL teams and stats expire for EA. Again, these are only my hunches, based on being a stockholder in EA and having read about EA’s contract with the NFL. I don’t know for sure. And for the record, I LOVE STADIA! I’m not bashing it at all. However, until/unless it hits critical mass, depending on how difficult porting of games is, we won’t get a lot of blockbuster games. Just the nature of business — bottomline. I hope Stadia doesn’t go the way of Sega Dreamcast, but it eventually may. Until that time, though, I’m having as much fun as I can on it!!!
