Thanks @Ivan , but I'm still trying to figure out how to secure my account. At the moment I see no security, the kids start Stadia it is logged in under my account and they can purchase in-game features without any security. No way to lock this feature that I can see. I'm not looking to setup child accounts, I just want to protect my account and prevent in-game purchases. They can't buy games as they do not have the Stadia app, but they can turn on the TV and pickup a controller.

@codesplice : It’s certainly something worth considering. Can’t recall why I might have adjusted settings in the past, I’m sure that I have for one reason or another. But yes, for an environment such as Stadia, the implications of these settings being adjusted in Chrome could have negative impact on the performance as we have seen with a couple of the attributes already.

Seen a few instances of this now. Most likely incorrect flags have been set in Chrome. Navigate to the URL chrome://flags/ then check that both the following are set to Enabled Hardware-accelerated video decode Hardware-accelerated video encode If that doesn't address the issue, just click the Reset all to default button, restart Chrome and you should be in good order. This appears to resolve the issue of very jerky stuttering mouse movement.

It's the in-game purchases that are of concern. Access to the Stadia app is easy enough to control, but it is the ability to spend an insane amount of money on in-game purchases that sets all the alarms bells ringing... e.g. 5,000 silver tokens in Destiny 2 is £39.99, that is an in-game purchase and not controlled via the Stadia app. No limit as to how many times that can be purchased.... Ideally, you want to have a way to control these purchases (disable) and lock settings with a pin/passphrase etc. Whatever the solution it needs to be suitable for all platforms (Chromecast, Chrome, etc.)

So far I've had no issues with either running on Chromecast or via Chrome. Although I did reset everything in Chrome to default a day earlier in relation to another issue that I was encountering that was not Stadia related. If you need to reset Chrome to default settings, you can navigate to the URL chrome://flags/ and select Reset all to default. It will require a restart of the browser iirc.
Integration between the App and some 3rd party tools is there. Select Explore from within the app and then select your preferred tool...YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, facebook or Discord.

@Thormor : I was able to run both the Google Home app and the Stadia app on a Windows 10 PC running BlueStacks. It does however require that you have Bluetooth (as this is used to communicate with the controllers during setup only), and also you'll need to have a location defined in BlueStacks since location services are used during the setup procedure.

In the grand scheme of things that’s not too much of a delay, even though we were all misled into the false belief that a founders edition would mean day 1 access. Maybe it’s true for a few folks but it is what it is. as for code, mine came through yesterday at 9:30pm and the bundle arrived midday yesterday. So just hang in there and you’ll soon be up and running. While you are waiting for the code, setup your chromecast and charge the controller, then just wait for that email.... its worth the wait....
