Agree on Destiny 2. I wasn't a console gamer or fan of shooters (still really am not) so when it was pretty much literally the only thing to play on Stadia in its early days, it trained me pretty well on twin stick.
I already have way too much to play on Stadia, but this is a rare 100% of games revealed that I am interested to play. Thanks @StadiaTeam !
I'm a Tetris heathen and request New Tetris (circa Nintendo 64). A lost classic that updated the formula.

Certainly the wired controller to the phone will work as is (with the correct cable, from my recollection all the standard Stadia controller packages come with USB-A to C wires), but this wireless setup seems like it work as well. Assuming another device is on the same "Wi-Fi" network that is using a phone hotspot for data, I would imagine that would work as "into the Matrix" this setup seems to be.
Possibly a hardware fault then, as you potentially expected. Maybe try a reset to see if the problem persists: https://support.google.com/stadia/answer/9584135?hl=en&ref_topic=9495415&authuser=0
Can you try it over Wi-Fi to see if it exhibits the same behavior? That would at least rule out or confirm a potential hardware fault.
Also send feedback using the Stadia app to let them know we want more account integrations where possible.
Would an incognito tab work for this? Or do you need a Stadia account to access the store regardless?
Have been playing quite a bit of Human Fall Flat lately with my two younger children, it supports local co-op. There have been some almost Lego-game moments in co-op with that one...
This is the way.

Maybe I'm missing something here but the Stadia controller should already be wireless, regardless of the OS? I don't have Windows but believe Stadia operates there just as the standard web app and you can pair your Stadia controller to that session wirelessly (using the onscreen code). You can also plug the Stadia controller directly into the computer and it will operate as a standard HID-compliant controller (not sure exactly how Windows sees it but I know on Chrome OS the Stadia app picks it up right away when plugged in over USB). Cheers

This is a current limitation right now so it is working as designed. What gets me more is the toast message you get after closing the Stadia app that the controller can't be used outside of the app; that almost makes it sound like it may be enabled someday. Make sure to send feedback in the Stadia mobile or web app. You can also ask your Google TV (with the included remote) to send feedback, then have to talk to the computer. It's clunky but technically works so our robot overlords know what we want improved. Cheers
2nd time around the sun, Stadia. Cheers

Wasn't there recent discussion on this with it being fixed at some point? i.e. if you have a game claimed through Pro, there is an option to Buy it instead. I with @RXShorty that it almost has to be a publisher agreement issue, imagine being a game development and people want to give you more money. Who would say no??
It behaves this way for me as well, but I've noticed the last controller to connect remembers the device and reconnects when I'm in the Stadia app on Google TV.
This is how it works, unfortunately the Pro trial is a bit pushy and you either have to sign up (then cancel) or sneak around it by using the logged in account to play a free game. I believe this is ... See more...

I deal with hackers/cheaters/good players in Destiny just by treating everything I do with low expectations. I'm not very good, will probably fail a whole lot, so...
