My Chromecast w/ Google TV (btw, can we all agree this name is unnecessarily long & pretty much a marketing fail?) is fast AF on my mesh network. It's throughput is faster than my Internet connection. Obviously, Ethernet is ideal, but these days, WiFi is good enough for all my gaming. I also freaking love the Chromecast w/ Google TV versus my Roku - and before I switched, I considered my Roku to be the best all around experience for ease of use & interoperability. I wasn't even considering switching until I read about Raised by Wolves and I couldn't watch it on my Roku (at the time, HBOMax didn't have an app on Roku.) The Google TV interface is a bit more busy & my kids & wife complain that it isn't as easy to use as Roku - w/o native Stadia support, it's going to be a harder sell to my kids. Right now, they want the Roku back. If they could play all the games I have in Stadia, I could sell the Chromecast w/ Android Nest TV by Google as a permanent replacement for the Roku.
Has anyone played Into the Breach yet? I'm an older gamer too and while I enjoyed games like Quake & Counter Strike, my jams were RTS - AOE, Warcraft III, Starcraft, C&C and C&C Red Alert et cetera.... See more...
Has anyone played Into the Breach yet? I'm an older gamer too and while I enjoyed games like Quake & Counter Strike, my jams were RTS - AOE, Warcraft III, Starcraft, C&C and C&C Red Alert et cetera.  Nowadays I'm guessing I'd not be as good at Starcraft/Warcraft because the APM (actions per minute) I'm capable of has certainly decreased - I find myself running out of time ALL the time in Hearthstone Battlegrounds. My "micro" isn't as strong as it once was. I'd still love to play those kinds of games (RTS) on Stadia to play w/ other friends also a bit older - and my kids so they can know what it is like to play real games   Now that I think about it, the last game I was obsessed w/ and played on PC was way back before we had our first child - DOTA - I'm talking about the original DOTA that was just a mod in Warcraft 3. IIRC, DOTA generated its own genre,no? MOBA or something - any Stadia games like that? I can't tell you how fun it was to play Humankind using the Stadia controller during lunch break at work on my Chromebook. I've also started Destiny 2 - but I feel like an old man playing that game - the hardest part is remembering all the key mappings. Having babies in your 40s wrecks your brain & your response times.
RTS games like Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, Warcraft/Starcraft, Civilization 5/6, Rome, et cetera. City & civilization sims too. Tetris Autochess games like Hearthstone or card games like MTG... See more...
RTS games like Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, Warcraft/Starcraft, Civilization 5/6, Rome, et cetera. City & civilization sims too. Tetris Autochess games like Hearthstone or card games like MTG. More kid friendly titles too. DOTA / League of Legends et cetera But what I needed like yesterday is some of that AOE II & C&C Red Alert remastered action. My laptop is too old to play those via Steam install. Perfect for Stadia, no?
I'd really really really like to see RTS games similar to Age of Empires, C&C, StarCraft & Warcraft3 or even Rome Total War. Even card games like Hearthstone or Autochess type games.
