I believe I found a possible solution to this issue and posted it at; https://community.stadia.com/t5/Stadia-on-Chromecast/Linking-CCU-to-account/td-p/1381

Possible solution for folx with the Stadia provided CCU: Factory reset controller (press and hold for 6 seconds the capture and assitant buttons), factory reset the CCU. Once the CCU finishes resetting, go through the CCU set up as normal (Using the Home app), but skip the Stadia setup. Once the set up finishes, you should be at an ambient screen. If you are, then power up the controller and go through the controller setup, when that finishes, use the Stadia code from the ambient screen to link them.

@Sparky , it's interesting you should say it that way.  I am a Unix systems admin / systems engineer for 40ish years...  I understand exactly how they are feeling cause I have been in the same, if massively smaller, boat...  And over those 40ish years, I learned to try to keep people informed...  Now that I have someone who does the informing for me (I am really not very good with people), my customers get updated at least a couple times a day, if not a couple times an hour.  Given that Google has two Stadia community managers, I would have at least expected a update every hour until the core issue was solved   No I am not asking for details as to what happened, but Google's community managers going silent for 18ish hours did, IMNSHO, more damage to the Stadia brand than anything else.

Greetings,     I am having a similar issue, I get the controller linked to the CCU, and the message about adding the CCU to my account.  When I get to the page to add my account the Stadia app says that it cannot find the CCU...  I go into the Home app and it cannot contact the CCU either at that point.     Please note that to get this point I had to have connectivity to both the controller and the CCU from my phone.  I am guessing that there is a bug in the CCU firmware.
The Pixel 4 supports 4K @ 90hz.  As I understand it right now, Destiny 2 is only doing 1080 @ 60hz, but is being up-sampled to 4K @ 60hz.
I am the USA, Pacific Northwest. I did Samurai Showdown and Destiny 2

While I agree unreservedly with your sentiment, I think Google really needs to up their game as far as communication goes.  The vast majority of the complaints I see of people wanting to return their systems are due almost exclusively to Google's poor communication.

I was running it in 720p (Limited data usage mode.).  For testing, I did run it in 720p while on LTE and did not notice any issues.  I moved up to "best visual quality" mode while I was on 5Ghz wifi and again had no issues, except that I couldn't read most of the text without holding the phone up to my face.

Greetings,   I got my code yesterday afternoon and my controller last night. So far I have played on Chrome (Linux & Win10), Chromebook (Dell 5190), and Pixel 4.   I have used mouse and keyboard for Chrome (Linux w/Stadia extension & Win10 w/out Stadia extension) and the controller (wired) on Chromebook (w/Stadia extension) and Pixel4 (w/Stadia app).   Additionally, I have played on 100Mb / 15Mb, LTE, 1Gb / 1Gb, 2.5Ghz wifi, and 5Ghz wifi.   I have started games on one system and jumped to another, randomly stopped Chrome and resumed the game on another system. Performance has been very good. Input latency has been imperceptible from my PS4 or my Win10 PC games.   Please note that I a very casual gamer, so my PC is nothing special. Other than the code delivery issues, I have only had issues with pairing the controller / Chromecast Ultra / Stadia app.
My code arrived.  Signing in now.  Pre-ordered on June 7th
Purchased on Jun 7th, supposed to receive my controller today, but still no code.

Quote From @GraceFromGoogle: We're sorry for the delayed responses. We've identified an issue where a small fraction of Stadia access codes were sent out of order. That has been addressed. We've continued to roll out codes in the sequence in which we received your pre-order. We look forward to seeing you on Stadia. It is now over 12 hours since that was sent... Over 12 hours since the last update, over 12 hours for you guys to give us an ETA, over 12 hours for you guys to demonstrate that the first part of your apology was sincere. I have seen people claim that they ordered in August, July, even October who claim that they have codes already, and one person who ordered in August has already grabbed the gamer tag I was hoping for, and I am fairly certain someone else has already grabbed my second choice. That tells me that you weren't sincere in your statement that you continued to roll out codes in the order that the pre-orders were received. I have to say, I am extremely disappointed.
