Weird, I had to delete f1 2020 codemasters save games to prevent it from crashing like that. In GRiD, I had the same issue, but instead of deleting save games, I just let it rest a few minutes in menu before pressing anything, and that fixed the issue for some weird reason. Did not crash anymore. Incase it helps.

So in F1 2020 on stadia, the game may possibly crash when for example opening time trial session. This is a bug from the game and codemasters intended to offer a workaround if they were not able to detect/fix it. Found somewhere on internet from codemasters mentioning a "workaround" this issue by deleting all save data, in settings. Completely resetting the game.  It worked for me, after a long while I can play the game again. It 100% works again after I deleted all the save data in settings, right bottom end of the start menu.
Cool thanks.

Yes thanks. Appearantly h264 is capable of running 1080p stable. There was a chrome OS bug that showed Chrome version 92.0 to be the newest version on my system. And was thus unable to update for 1 month even if I manually clicked it. Causing h264 to run very slow on 1080p. I had to make sure my system and stadia supported h264 atleast on 1080p before the time limit on my purchase expired. Factory settings resolved the issue and using chrome OS version 93.0 now runs 1080p 60fps super smooth. I noticed the issue particularly stems from android webview system application being out of sync with the chrome os version. Factory os works as well, as long as that app doesn't update. If it does, them chrome os needs to update aswell. To the absolute newest version, even if the system thinks it's got the newest system but does not actually have it.  Sorry for all the confusion. Weird that h264 doesn't show up on chrome://gpu. But it seems like it works fine now chrome OS is totally up to date and synced with all application versions.

Chrome OS version 92.0.4515.162 (official build) (32-bits) Chromebook duet za6f 1080p 60fps. Chrome://gpu Video Acceleration Information: Completely empty. There is no information regarding any codec support or capability. Not even vp8 or vp9 or H264. When I play stadia, stadia+ extension monitor shows it's always on H264 codec, even after I force it to vp9 and reload, it still shows H264. And at 1080p it is completely unplayable and unstable. Regardless of internet quality. Which is 12ms 150mbps/50upload or better. Is this a hardware limitation issue, or operating system issue? Or is it perhaps the Stadia software that is not operating or functioning properly here? Thanks.

VP9 doesn't work on my chomebook duet za6f. Atleast, that is what the stadia + extension, monitor display shows. H264 codec is running even if I force VP9 via the extension and reload. I tried visiting chrome://gpu webpage and see if my chromebook supports VP9 but under  Video Acceleration Information There is no information under that section, it's completely empty. Not even H264. On my chromebook duet za6f What is also weird. My phone shows vp8 and no vp9 on that page. But it always works perfectly on 1080p. Yet my chromebook doesn't always work on vp9 and the extension shows its always H264 even on 1080p. And thus perhaps that is why it doesn't work on 1080p yet... Sometimes it does work... How come? Not joking, sometimes it is smooth 1080p 60fps. But rarely. It is always H264.

This is the most mysterious technical issue I've ever encountered.  According to all the evidence, I can be 95% certain that the network / wifi is not the issue. tested other devices on same network with and without issue occuring on this chromebook duet, many many times, it's 100% works perfectly on other devices, and even sometimes on this device regardless of network., But then again, that 5% is something I perhaps cannot see or know, or test or recover the data from my network tests. Or it may be related in some crazy way to the internet that I could not have foreseen. But this issue occurs only on chromebook duet in mysterious unknowable, by me, ways. For mysterious unknown by me reasons. Today again, 1080p at 60 fps, SMOOTH consistent stable SUPER HIGH FAST SPEED LOW LATENCY. On this chromebook duet. On the same wifi like always. It doesn't even matter what wifi I use or what latency. So the issue suddenly occurs again, for absolutely no reason. No one joined the network, everyone is asleep, I'm the only one using my network and even the neighbours networks are possibly all silent. But I cannot know that. Maybe some night updates occuring there. But my speedtests shows the opposite, when the issue occured, the speedtest shows the best performance and smoothest and most stable and consistent results EVER. Right after the issue occured. But even tho it is the best, it is still mostly the same wifi performance as always. When it works and dont work... on this chromebook duet. Now I tried seeing if bluetooth was the issue, and closed off bluetooth, obviously I keep trying the same thing over and over again. But it's never any particular thing that causes the issue that I can identify. Bluetooth didnt make a difference either. Wether it works, on/of is the same and when it doesn't work, on/off is the same. closing background apps, testing several device performance boosters, all of them, make absolutely no... ZERO, difference whatsoever. I can also even open more background apps on purpose and even multitask, and it works, and then it doesn't. And without background apps, same... It works, and then it doesn't. For absolutely no reason that I can identify at all. Now, the graphical processing unit is somewhat low in performance, but it doesn't explain why sometimes it works, consistently, smoothly, stably, and fast low latency, on  even connecting many bluetooth devices and testing bad and good internet wifi connections 2.4 or 5.0. It all makes no difference. And also the background apps speedboost modes. However, if I stream at 720p mobile data, this is the only thing that makes a difference. And I repeat, this issue ONLY occurs on this lenovo chromebook duet za6f. I tested many different devices on the same network, zero difference. And 1080p works perfectly on this chromebook duet, but when it doesn't... ?? For some mysterious unknowable, by me, reason. Then closing down and opening stadia in 720p mobile performance mode, it works again, to reasonable degree. This is a new chromebook duet, so I have no applications that can interfere. And I always close down all background apps and make sure everything is up to date, so that no secret background downloads are happening. And I close it down anyway. That also makes 0% of a difference. From endless repeat testing in endless different variations of combinations of many endless different factors. I even tried using bluetooth with vibrational feedback and without, to see if that was the issue. Nope... That's how many things I have tried. One of you mentioned chromebook being unstable operating system, chrome os. Perhaps that's it, but then I expect every single chrome os to malfunction on stadia 1080p and have the same issue. And I cannot test that. I only got one chrome os device. This chromebook duet and it has the issue and yet it doesn't. It has the issue whenever it wants to. For no particular reason that I can identify or perceive in anyway. I assume chrome os is supported by stadia, because I got a stadia app build in to this device, I didn't download that... But ofcourse I also tried all tests on stadia app and via chrome browser, makes no difference either. It's either a chrome os or stadia software issue, and it may or may not be related to my hardware. But I doubt it's the internet. Every time I test a corrolation between the issue and the internet, after many repeat tests, the issue proofs me completely the opposite, where a better internet performance can also result in the problem actually occuring rather than not. And this is for latency, download and upload and also 5ghz / 2.4ghz and 0 bluetooth, 1, 2 and 3 devices. It all makes no difference. Including the endless combinations in between. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. At 720p mobile it almost always works. And 1080p it often also works. But for no appearant identifiable reason. And the issue occurs also for no appearant identifiable reason. But the issue occurs very often at 1080p on this chromebook duet, lenovo, za6f. Not always but often. It can sometimes works for a long time without the issue occuring. Also with or without charging cable. Just to mention another thing of the infinite I've tried over many different days, and times, not to mention I tested in many different internet business or traffic, times/dates/days of the week. Or even months of the year... Everything up to date ofcourse, Operating System. Chrome os. I don't know, this is beyond me. The indistinguishable nature of all the factors at play requires a higher conscious quantum computer intelligence that will probably tell me that I have to paste peanutbutter on my chromebook and then it will probably work after I do that... And I woulden't even be suprised if that was the case. Sometimes I look away and back and it suddenly works. And I instantly go massive testing mode all the factors that may have changed, and nothing... Internet, on all devices, the same, stadia performance on all devices the same aswell, when it works or dont work on this chromebook duet. Maybe it's a hidden battery saver or battery / energy usage manager. But then again, applying the charger should fix the issue not? Well it doesn't. Yet I cannot know tho, I have no way of knowing. According to wifi chip it can do 1000mbps or more maybe. I tried ultra heavy duting gaming mode, cpu stress tests was fine. There is no battery manager on chrome os... I doubt an app will give me acces to any hidden battery management that may bottleneck performance. But then again multitasking sometimes works, so I doubt it's a performance issue. I think this chromebook can do it.

After the problem occured on 5ghz again, I did some further testing. 25mb/sec 60fps 1080p runs smooth on this chromebook duet, on stadia. Regardless of background processes. I can even multitask and it works fine. As long as the internet has low latency, miliseconds, ms, in speedtest. It runs smooth. 21 ms very smooth. 25ms, playable. But 28-31 ms on speedtest, even on 5ghz, on any network, at 1080p, on stadia, on this chromebook duet, it lags. It behaves very strange... The game goes completely out of sync, stops and goes back in sync, and back out of sync, and back in sync. It also changes resolution automatically back and forth 720p and 1080p. So specifically this issue occurs for me when the speedtest results in 29-31 ms latency.

It works! I'm just glad it works but it makes no sense why it works. Indeed very complex. New network shows 2.4ghz/5ghz like the previous one. This one even has lower reception, but the laptop or phone doesnt show clearly which one it is. 2/5. So it runs 1080p fine and smooth. On H264 codec according to the stadia+ extension monitor. Then I manually force changed the codec to vp9. Reloaded. And it was back like the previous laggy 1080p and automatically switching back and forth to 720p and 1080p. Even tho it still showed as H264 codec. Reverted settings back to automatic codec and still laggy when it is 1080p. Closed the window. Ran a speedtest to warm it up and opened stadia again on this network. And back to smooth 1080p. H264 codec like always.  So atleast I know the laptop, chromebook duet ideapad lenovo za6f can do 1080p 60fps smooth and good response, on stadia and the cpu/gpu is capable of it. And perhaps the network is the issue. Tho not sure where the issue precisely is coming from as this network has worse signal but works better.  This stuff is very complex indeed.

Hi @RXShorty  Thanks for response. It seems that stadia+ extension forcing vp9 codec on stadia doesn't change anything, still runs h264 codec. I also tried stadia app and webbrowser version with/without extension. Also tried closing down apps manually to boost performance. It's all the same. Stadia keeps switching between 720p and 1080p. At 720p its fine and 1080p the video lags behind. Stadia speedtest says the internet on this laptop is outstandingly excellent.  Wifi 802.11ac is integrated with the cpu according to notebookcheck? Not sure what that means or if it is relevant. Lenovo ideapad duet ZA6f.  Gpu: arm g72 mp3, 0.85 ghz. 3dmark: 1644 phone Gpu: adreno 620, 1.8 ghz. 3dmark: 4837 phone  Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (whereas laptop just ac.) phone cpu snapdragon 765g Phone runs stadia 1080p effortlessly. and 3dmark much much much more smoothly.   But what affects and is actually required for stadia 1080p?
It seems that my chromebook duet, 1080p native, cannot run stadia on 1080p. It lags unplayably on 1080p and runs smoothly on 720p. (internet can handle 200mbps 13 ms. 30 mbpsupload also on this lapto... See more...
It seems that my chromebook duet, 1080p native, cannot run stadia on 1080p. It lags unplayably on 1080p and runs smoothly on 720p. (internet can handle 200mbps 13 ms. 30 mbpsupload also on this laptop) So  CPU: 2.0GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P60T. Graphics: ARM G72 MP3. Is not enough to run stadia on 1080p, it can barely hold on and latency is too high like 1-4 seconds and unstable. Is this because the single core cpu 2.0ghz is too low? Or is the gpu perhaps not sufficient. And what about it is not sufficient? What do I need more of in the gpu? Incase the gpu is the issue. 4gb ram is enough for 1080p I assume,. What is required for 1080p stadia gameplay?

It is not possible to connect a stadia controller to a chromebook which is connected to my phone's wifi hotspot. Because I cannot use the phone to connect the controller to its own wifi hotspot via the app. Because the app only allows to connect the controller of the wifi is enabled. And the stadia controller only allows me to connect it to a wifi via a phone. There is no stadia app for the chromebook unfortunately, so that's partly also why it is not possible to connect the stadia controller to a phones wifi hotspot via a chromebook. As the web version is the only accesible version on the chromebook and it doesn't allow a feature to connect the stadia controlller to its connected wifi.  Would be nice to be able to connect my stadia controller to my phones wifi hotspot. So I can simply play on my chromebook. I sent it as a feedback too.  Currently it would require two phones to accomplish this. One phone for wifi hotspot. And another phone to connect the stadia controller to that Phones wifi hotspot. I don't think I ever will use two phones. But to be able to play on a chromebook via 4g or 5g cellular, it is almost necessery to use two phones. In the current version and capability of stadia as far as I know or am aware of. If you know it is possible, I would like to know.
