auto pilot on Tesla is a feature and not the selling point of the car. (The selling point of Tesla is electric) so choosing to pay for auto pilot doesn't take a way from the car. I can compare it to xbox and playstation,  although I never once mention playstation specifically. But both system (devices) have 4k hardware and you play 4k games on it because those devices are capable of it. 4k isn't lock behind game pass/xbox live or ps plus. A chrome cast ultra is a 4k device. I assume you aren't aware that a regular chrome cast can not play staida even though it is essentially a streaming device. That is because it doesn't have the right hardware. You have to purchase the correct hardware to do so, hence chrome cast ultra & the new Google TV.   My point is & I apologize for not being clear earlier. Is that I can play a free to play title (Destiny) on stadia using my Chromecast Ultra & stadia controller  & never commit to pro or purchase any title on it. & i would enjoy 720 or 1080p. Which is great & I love that. Now I want to purchase a game(own the license) let say doom eternal. Now in order to fully experience the full graphical detail of that game I would need to also purchase pro membership & continue to do so for as long as i want to maintain that graphical experience. Even though I own( my chromecast ultra )  & the licenses  games, that is more than Capable of outputting 4k.  I believe that you should always strive to do better than. What you are intended to replace. & i want stadia to be the Future of Gaming seeing the potential is there. But certain decision can halt progress or outright kill a momentum.  Let me ask you this. Why would you purchase doom eternal on stadia to play it at 1080p when you can do so on a nintendo switch . You can play it on the big screen & on the go.  My answer would be because I want to play it in 4k at home.  But then a follow-up question would be why would you subscribe to play it in 4k when a PS or Xbox have it in 4k ?

You miss understood what I said. I said download part of the game for Google drive I also mention that that is useful for when your data connection isn't strong enough & when your on the go. This would imply a mobile device. A cell phone or tablet. Google drive is both online and offline on mobile device. If you have partial game loaded on your mobile device & staida is the portal that access that game you can play your game anywhere ofcourse this wouldn't apply to multi-player.  This would be a great pro feature as it justify the cost for monthly subscription which would be the extra storage for offline gaming (partially) and since the game would be rendered on a device that is a small screen the relative GB size wouldn't be large think of it like how the nintendo switch compresses game to fit on their small Carthage .

Barthandelus: No, that's also not true. When, for e.g. you buy a game on Steam, you don't "own the game" but the right to install it and play it through Steam. It's definitively the same for Stadia.  Proof here . You can find more searching the net. Locwolf: I see, so having the license to a title through purchase doesn't grant you the ability to stream it at a quality of your choosing. Barthandelus: There isn't many users that would want to pay for a Youtube Music integration while Youtube Music is free (atleast have a free part). You can already listen to Google Music / Youtube Music while playing Stadia. Locwolf:When I said Google music integration i meant it as the same way it is used through the other consoles. Example: spotify (which is also free) & Xbox. You can listen to music while playing any game seamlessly. Even silencing in game music for your spotify while keeping vocal audio. Unless I have gotten the wrong message of stadia intention, ( which is to be the future of gaming )to me if you want to be the next logical future, you must first do better than what is currently offered.  Batthandelus:Even if I think every idea is a good idea, this one has nothing to deal with the concept of "Streaming services" (that's the opposite of offline gaming !). Locwolf: The concept of streaming doesn't necessarily mean always connected but always available, all of the top streaming service has a way to watch your content offline. Stadia could use Google drive for a portion of the game for offline use when the user is mobile (on the go) when data isn't readily available,  this could be a great pro feature. And it cement the play anywhere tag line.    Barthandelus: I understand how frustrating it can be, but you have to understand that if you want Stadia to work, like everything, they need ressources (money /o/). Other streaming services also have premium features increasing performances. Check Parsec / Parsec Warp for e.g.  Locwolf: yes I know other services have preimum features but Google/ Stadia already have users & infrastructure that the other services don't,  so it makes sense to capitalize on it. At least to me it does.

I understand that but streaming as a whole is the entire business model, if they can deliver 720 & 1080 at no cost to million of devices then, 4k shouldn't be an exception, since majority devices are 4k. Also if you purchase a game from stadia shouldn't the option of 4k be available regardless of pro? You do "own the game"  through Stadia services.  I believe that 4k should be available base on devices and not on premium. (The user should have the option to turn on and off 4k)  Also Pro should be focus on actual user engagement features that they  already have the infrastructure in place for: Just to give an example.  Google drive: imagine setting aside storage to download portion of your game for offline uses, ( the same feature that let you download a piece of the game to start playing right away, while the rest download in the background on traditional console) only with stadia it's reverse engendered. That alone is a worth it pro feature.  Cause you can play anywhere with out interruption of data.  How about adding Google music to stadia so you can listen to music while playing your game? Worth it Pro feature & encourage others to use Google music since its included with their stadia pro.   I can go on and on about features that could benefit Staida & make Pro engaging  & i tell you locking 4k behind a pay wall even when you purchase the tittle isn't one of them.

I can't understand why 4k streaming is lock behind a pay wall for stadia.  For example.  I own a stadia premium edition bundle. Which come with a 4k chrome cast ultra. The only device beside the new Google TV product that is actually dedicated to stadia.  So why is it when I purchase a game I have to be subscribed to pro in order to play a game "I own" at 4k on my 4k TV with a dedicated 4k streaming device .  If you purchase a Game the option for 4k should be available with out a pay wall.  In retrospect its like Microsoft selling an Xbox one x or series x ( both 4k devices) then saying that the game you are playing  physical or digital will only pay in 1080p unless you sign up for gamepass or something. Or apple 4k tv showing everthing in 1080p because you don't have apple 1. Even though you purchase licenses content to own to enjoy at 4k on your dedicated 4k device.  I honestly believe that locking 4k behind a pay wall is simply because the incitement for stadia Pro isn't exciting .  Can you imagine a dealer telling you that you have to subscribe to a monthly payment in order to drive a car you just purchase with cash ?.  Stadia should focus on user experience that they can add  to make Stadia Pro alluring,  instead of locking off a built in feature behind a pay wall.

Stadia Pro has a Major flaw with in the service itself.  For reason that doesn't make sense to me or anyone else. Is that once you claim a game through stadia pro. & you wish to purchase it later. You cannot, unless you wait for your pro to expire. By doing that it expell you from the discount associated with that Game.So to put this into context. If you didn't claim a game while it was free for pro member you can purchase it at a discount rate now if you become a member & that title is for sale. But if you are unfortunate enough to claim that game when it was free. You are lock into a paywall for stadia pro if you wish to continue playing that game or purchase it at full MSRP. Making stadia a double edge sword.
The yearly one sure . Life one no. Because people (life) change no one will invest 2k for a server based platform that isn’t even 2 years old and tested to stay the long haul

Forever is a long time.  I'm looking at this from the point of view of a collector of games and console. I know this is wishful thinking but i wanted or hoping that a decade or two from now i would be able to show my kids or grand kids the collection i obtain through the years. and the growth and develiptment of the industry. stadia platform is the next logical step.  but will it stay and if not what do users have to show that it was even there.

i agree it isn't just a stadia issue. but stadia is the first platform to bring this new form of gaming to this level successfully.  I dont know about steam or playstation or even amazon new luna. but microsoft some how stumble on to a solution by making the same game availble to stream and download via console. so even if their servers go down or they discontinue. purchase digital content are still available and accessible through their device. My hope is that stadia stays and solidify it self and not be another tried and fail platform.  I'm looking at this from the point of view of a collector of games and console.

What are your plans regarding downloading a game that was purchase. For example I purchase the division 2 . What are your plans 5 or 10 years from now when you have either upgraded your server to a new protocol or discontinued support or the server to service that game. Am I able to download that game. To keep on a device. Or is the game I purchase gone. If so then the game I purchase to own digitally would be an extended rental that's avaiable as some as the servers are up.
