@Ivan I've dropped a message on the Shield TV forum, I doubt I will get anywhere as hardly a mention of stadia on the whole site. To demonstrate the issue I am experiencing I've recorded the output I am hearing from the TV and I've also recorded the output from the 30 second game capture option built into stadia over the same period. Night and day difference on the sound, so frustrating.   Phone recording of The Division 2 Sound Effect Issue - video is heavily compressed by google photos. There is garbled techno popping sounds all the time, the more of a fire fight you are in the more popping and crackling you hear. @Ivan After signing up my cylinder serial number to the nividia website I now find myself on the following version, however the issue is still the same, no improvement at all. There is also no feedback option on the Stadia Android TV app, at least the version that runs on the shield. Seems a major omission to reporting problems on that platform. It's not easy to report via the playstore either when reporting against android tv, as no option to send feedback there either. I've not posted on the nvidia forums, will give it a go. Ideally need Google to replicate the issue in house and then take it from there to address a fix and contact nvidia if it is an OS issue.
That's the version I'm on. I have hotfix on original shield downstairs, I have just applied for it for cylinder. Not sure to be honest what is latest version.

Hi, I'm struggling playing a few games on stadia notably the division 2 and wreckfest without encountering sounds issues. I never used to have the issue prior to Android 11 - SHIELD EXPERIENCE UPGRADE 9.0 being applied to both my original nvidia shield and newer nvidia shield cylinder. The cylinder is connected to a TV in the bedroom and the older original nvidia shield is connected to a 5.1 surround setup via an AV Reciever. Both experience exactly the same problem. Both shields are hard wired to my pfsense router and I'm also a stadia pro subscriber. I am only streaming at 1080p as not upgraded tvs to 4k yet. The problem isn't resolved by switching to 720p either in the stadia app. I've messed about with all the sound settings in the shield and stadia app itself. The video is perfect nice and smooth, it's just the sound is crap, high pitched popping and crackling on some of the effects. Wreckfest it's the engine sound that's distorted, in The Division 2 it is the gun sounds and drone noises. It's spoiling my gaming. I logged in this weekend to stadia on my laptop and the sound plays perfectly fine through it, so I believe it is down to some bug in the stadia app related to the Android 11 upgrade. If anyone can offer some advice it would be much appreciated.

@RXShorty ... finally got round last night to trying out your earlier suggestions as wasn't well over the weekend so didn't play any games. To my surprise switching out to ubisoft connect from within the game and then coming straight back brought I think most of the smoothness back. Went from jittery eye pain mess scrolling on the map to almost perfectly smooth again. What a crazy situation. Is it ubisoft or stadia at fault with this issue? I need to have a gaming session again on SpongeBob as I'm pretty sure that was definitely suffering the same issues and that as far as I'm aware isn't a ubisoft game.

I have added the two mp4s I took with my phone to highlight that the game is smooth initially and then over time (30+ mins), gets more and more stuttery as time goes on, the latter which is winding me up and makes the game close to unplayable. The issue is most notable when panning the map, night and day difference. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1xAjtOkx-syjOvDJ9PXZLucsDpLZb1CH6?usp=sharing

After a quick google I think you are referencing an option when playing in a browser, I'm not playing in a browser, I'm playing via stadia app on the nvidia shield.

Quick update, I hit the issue as always last night and tried out a few things but didn't find the silver bullet. So what I can discount so far as the cause of the issue, as the tests below I undertook while in the same Division 2 session: 1. Connecting to different streaming device via stadia app on my home network does not alleviate  the micro stuttering 2. I turned off FQ_CODEL Traffic Shaping limiters in PFSENSE which I added to aid buffer bloat to see if that was the cause, it wasn't 3. I rebooted the router and then reconnected back in to the same gaming session, stuttering exactly same as before, no change.   I'll try the options suggested by MrVacca and RXShorty a little later today and update this list. I do think the problem is with all Stadia games. As I was playing SpongeBob with my daughter and I noticed it in that game too. It is almost as those the frames per second is dropping in the games, maybe starts off at 60 and then drops to 30 or less. panning the screen left to right is very stuttery in a consistent way. If I'm in the middle of a heated battle in Division 2, for example playing heroic with 4 teammates taking a checkpoint, the stuttering gets even worse, its hard to be accurate with your shooting. It is as though stadia doesn't have the horsepower to run the game, the streaming bandwidth requirement to me shouldn't change, no matter how much action is going on in the screen. I am running the game in 1080p mode too, as my TVs are only Full HD, not 4k. Just thought I did try and drop the setting to 720p in the Stadia app too and that made no difference either. I should add that to the list above of failed attempts to fix too. I'll try and take some video with my phone and post here, so you can see the before and after comparison clearly.

I have two nvidia shield devices, and I primarily play stadia through the stadia app on the cylinder 2019 version. I've been playing a lot of Division 2 of late and I've noticed that after about 30 mins of play micro stutters start to make an appearance and then as time goes on it gets gradually worse and I just give up after an hour and end the game. I thought the issue was my shield overheating, I even took it apart and reapplied thermal paste but same issue, and even stuck a big fan on it and also same issue. It was then I thought when it is stuttering on the one shield, let me turn that shield off while in a game and then pop downstairs and start up the game on my other shield which was cold starting which took me back into the game exactly where I left off. The exact same game stutter was present on this shield too, so I knew it wasn't a shield device overheating issue. The game plays smooth as butter for at least 30 mins before it gradually gets worse and it's starting to really annoy me. Could it be Google or my ISP (BT) starting to throttle stadia after a set amount of time or is the issue somewhere else? When a suitable timeslot allows I think I will just restart the WAN connection on my pfsense router to see if that fixes the stutter immediately before the cycle begins all over again. If it doesn't I'll reboot the router and try again. If neither of those fix it, then the issue is either with the ISP or with Google itself. Anyone else suffering this problem and have any words of wisdom?
I just had this issue on my Nvidia shield using the new stadia app from playstore. I've been sideloading app for months. I tried to start doom eternal which got the error. On 4th attempt I got in.

My stadia controller arrived the other day (free with cyberpunk) and I've got it working wireless with Nvidia shield once I understood how the controller connection works. The controller connects to your home WiFi, it doesn't connect in the same way a PS4 or Xbox controller connects and binds to your console or Nvidia shield via Bluetooth or WiFi dongle etc. The stadia controller is free to move around your home and be used on whatever device you wish to play a stadia game on. The linking actually happens when you start a stadia game up by entering the button combination requested on the screen via the controller. This is very clever and works well. So you can't control the menus on the Nvidia shield via the stadia controller as it only works in the stadia app when playing a game. I did notice it can take 30 or so seconds from switching on the stadia controller before it seems ready to enter a code and be happy with it..
Nope, that doesn't work unfortunately.

I've been using stadia on my 2019 shield TV cylinder version with a wireless PS4 dual shock controller for almost 2 months now, works perfect. I just Bluetooth synced PS4 controller with shield and that was all there was to it. I've tested the controller works via chrome and stadia app too on the Nvidia shield. I still need to use mouse toggle for Android TV to navigate around at times.
