@Whito The thing about Ark that I don't think a lot of people are thinking about, is that on Steam, you can play modded, and add unlimited variety to the game, that has made it as popular as it is. Stadia Ark will be vanilla, no mods, and vastly less replay value. I also have severe reservations about the stability of any servers that gain a half decent population and tames/buildings on the map, guess I'll just have to wait and see.

@Whito Dragon Quest is indeed great, unfortunately I bought it back in December on the playstation, now if stadia had simultaneous release dates, and advertised them, I probably would of bought it to justify my continuing pro subscription, despite the fact that I haven't actually used stadia to play games on for months now.

@Rutto Having used Ubisoft + before Christmas in the US, I find it immensely frustrating that now I'm back in the UK (and stuck here thanks to covid), that I no longer have have access to it. It's reasons like this why Stadia is failing so hard.

It's currently evening here, thanks to covid I'm stuck in the country, though I do have a lawyer trying to make up a nonsense business reason so I can fly back to the US, he did suggest because of my dual nationality I might be able to get around the lockdown, but being a British citizen means I'm also subject to the "stay at home" regulations. Seriously though in a decade or so, when people look back at this with hindsight, proponents of lockdown measures (especially ones this severe) are going to end up in court for human rights violations. Have a great night yourself.

No apologies necessary, in fact, it should probably be me apologising to you for my initial interpretation of your first comment, I freely admit that I quite arrogantly assumed that it was directed straight at me. It doesn't come of as you trying to "parent" the forum, rather, it refreshingl, comes across as a plea for sanity, and to get the main point of comment thread, to be commenting on Stadia, not each other. PS, unsurprisingly, another second language English speaker, that puts most native English language speakers to shame with your command of it. Kudos indeed my friend, you've gained a lot of respect from me in a couple of short posts.

@Stokkebro Forgot to say, congratulations on becoming a dad, it is something I unfortunately did not have time for in my 20s - 30s, and the woman I intent to marry someday can't have children, and is relatively young compared to myself, so any discussion about my prospects of becoming a father by adoption have been put on hold for a decade. This probably goes a long way to explaining my man child personality. Sincerely though, I'd give pretty much everything I have to be in your position right now, so for my sake, make the most of it. OK. Back to **bleep** mode, later.

@Stokkebro You may be surprised to hear that I pretty much agree with everything you just said. I only respond to comments directed at me, the only thing that I have said recently that might fit into the catagory you're talking about was my comment to @ChaosTheory, in which I believe I said "do you get my point about Ark yet" This wasn't an attempt to "own" the guy, it was to see if he understood now that after I said Ark would be good for Stadia, and then months later they announced they would get the game "sometime in 2021", that for me, it's too late, that I'd already put thousands of hours into the game (and that I only put that much time into it because on the PC, you can play with various mods), and that "sometime in 2021", I'd be done with the game, and would no longer personally care, he then just accused me of trolling, asking for things and then saying I didn't want them when given, and here we are months later again (and I have indeed become bored with Ark) and Stadia still haven't given us a release date (Studio Wildcard have, May 26th, obviously stadia don't consider its player base important enough to enlighten us about this however.), so I merely wanted to know if he had gotten my point yet. Every other "own" type comment I made, was a direct response to someone, and I freely admit that if someone tries to discredit what I say, I will metaphorically steamroll them, and especially yesterday, I freely told the chat, and was using it for entertainment (mostly talking to people who vehemently agree with what I have to say about Stadia). If you have a problem with me defending myself (be it in a serious or **bleep**posty way), well I guess I'm sorry, but that isn't a behavioral trait I consider to be bad, and therefore will not be changing in the foreseeable future. You seem sincere, and you've been polite, so I'll respond in kind. All the best.
@Viridian3965 A playstation or Xbox is always a solid investment, specially when the new generation have just come out, you'll get min 6+ years, more likely 8 or 9 out of it.

Exactly, the "streaming" aspect of Stadia is so overshadowed by all the downsides. Do what I did, buy a PS5, if you can afford it buy an M.2 ssd for new PS5 games if you're mainly buying digital, and buy a large external HD for old PS4 games, I've got almost 23tb of storage on my PS5 now, admittedly, only a little under 3tb are ssd storage, but that's plenty, and with games downloading while you sleep, unless you're sat at midnight, waiting for release, the game is there when you wake up anyway, and if you do wait up at midnight, so you may have to wait half an hour max to play, it's just not an issue.

Also, you're so right about Luna, it's not even released to the public, but already decided that it would be a good idea to include keyboard and mouse support for fire TV, basically, this is the smart home wars playing out again, and once again, Amazon are going to walk all over Google. Ffs Google are so bad at marketing, they can't even decide if their smart home system is going to be "Google Home", "Nest" or a combination of the 2, it's brand recognition 101, if people don't know what the stuff is called, they are going to (and as YouTube has proven) get very confused and lose confidence in the products. This time next year, Luna will be what Stadia should have been.

Isn't it funny, any comment more in depth than ("so exited for "insert game here""), seems to agree with my position, and make valid points, unfortunately Google and stadia don't care, Stadia is probably in damage mitigation mode now, and trying to scrape back ever penny they've wasted through the incompetence of the management team.

@FantiR It's a forum, it's for talking, and the theme of "Stadia" did indeed run through most of the comments, even if in a "it's not worth commenting" form. Also, the announcements are all made in the initial post, the comments thread is, wait for it, for COMMENTS! If you just want the news, read the announcement, if you want to know what's going on in the minds of people who pay for this to exist, then read the comments, or read both, even neither, it's completely your choice.  Instead of telling me not to comment, maybe tell Google they need to get better at putting out the news in the first place.  Edit  The above comment from @Lumberjack01 is pretty solid proof that at least one person enjoyed the comments, even if it was by just laughing at my growing lack of sanity, do you want to deprive @Lumberjack01 of their enjoyment, just because you found none yourself? Pretty selfish attitude.  Edit number 2 I will continue to sporadically give my feedback to Google through whatever means are at hand, when said feedback comes to mind. Obviously this usually happens when I'm reading something Stadia related.

I'd honestly estimate the active player base worldwide at under 5000, judging from interaction, player retention rate, interest shown etc. Not kidding, I seriously think that figure is roughly accurate, I bet there are tens of thousands of "pro" users, but I'd also bet that, like me, they never actually use the account. 5k active.

And this brings us squarely back to the main problem, other things people (myself included) can put up with, but when you burn through all the enjoyable games, you're left with "game x is coming out in 3 months". I don't want to wait 3 months, I'm bored now. In contrast, we have PS Now and Plus, the free games you get when you buy a PS5 with plus (the large collection you get, not just the couple released monthly), put stadia to shame on their own, and when I get bored (like today) because I have no current games to play, PS Now has a catalogue of thousands of games, and a lot of them are good to excellent, the only problem I have with PS Now, is deciding on what game I'm going to try next, there's decades, and 4 generations of games on there. PS, You know what one of the PS plus games was this month, god **bleep** FFVII remake, if stadia was getting games of that calibre for pro regularly, well put it this way, I wouldn't be complaining half as much.

You keep on making interesting comments, making this difficult to not reply too, you're spot on about hives, the problem is that each hive comes with its own doctrine, narrative, and lense through which it views the world, and they're all at odds with one another. The concept of individuality has become something of a joke, with so many people wanting to be different, and relatively few politically correct, or acceptable contrarian positions to take, they all end up being different in exactly the same way, I do sometimes wonder if the same was true before social media, but sadly lack a flying Delorian to take me back in time to observe my youth as an outsider to get a neutral perspective. Rambling again, basically, the more different you try to become, paradoxically, the more you end up conforming with the hives. I gotta stop responding now or this thread will just be me talking nonsense. Later.
Same to you, you and a couple of other people I've been talking to are far and away the best thing to have come from this whole mess. Gnight
That's brilliant, technically it's a senryu, but **bleep** close, and bonus points for speed.
That's almost zen, shame you couldn't of fit it into a haiku
