@LokiBrot IIf I'm playing a FPS where every second matters, I'd obviously wear a headset.  I'm thinking more along the lines of ESO and other games where you can spend hours, or even days in a party with someone else and the need to talk to each other.    This is a stupid thing to debate anyway, if Stadia just give us the option of using a mic with push to talk and select our audio out, it needn't be one or the other. You could use a headset where appropriate, and a mic with push to talk where appropriate.    It's currently a problem, one that is putting a lot of people off the Stadia platform (I spent several hours last night discussing this, and most people who were interested in Stadia, said this would be a dealbreaker.), and it's a problem that doesn't need to exist, if Google doesn't want to change the chat functionality, or the way the controller and headset works, they could just add discord (or any chat platform) integration.

There's always been press to talk, I've had maybe 20 years, since the invention of Teamspeak etc, using some form of group chat, I've never once had any complaints about my "chat etiquette". I'm envisioning the Google assistant button will eventually be used to create a similar function for Stadia (this is something that came through as an obvious thing to do back before the Stadia release, when all we has was a few pictures and some speculation).   Soung quality and game etiquette aside, if I binge play for more than a few hours (and in the past I pulled a 3 day Ark session (please do not try this at home kids)), even the most comfortable cans feel like you have a pair of knives strapped to your head.

You're missing the point, I just want to be able to put a mic in the controller, and still listen to the audio from my outrageously expensive soundbar and satellite speakers.    I occasionally binge game for a whole weekend when I play Ark on my PC, there will come a time when I spend 20+ hours on Google Stadia, with the need for voice chat, and even the very comfortable looking Sennheiser headset I just bought will both become extremely uncomfortable and (even though are a very nice headset) will not sound as good as my normal setup in either room I use.   Stadia need to give us the option to chose our audio output, or the ability to just use a 3.5mm jack mic with no headset, without cancelling out the audio from my soundbar and speakers.   At this rate people will just use discord, and the party chat feature will remain largely underused.   @StadiaTeam, I love your platform, you have a fan already, but the lack of chat functionality is frustrating to say the least, we need a discord style chat and voice function, or just discord integration.

Edit, I want to make it clear that I am talking about Stadia on the Chromecast Ultra, I could use my OnePlus 8 pro, but that would just be insane when I have 2 CCUs plugged into a 43 inch TV in the bedroom and a 55 in my front room, both with very good sounding Dolby Atmos speakers.    I just hit what I would call the first major problem with Stadia.  I was invited to join a party, thought I'd chat with some fellow gamers and accepted the invite.  I remember reading back in January that you'd eventually be able to use the in built mic or a wireless headset for party chat, so I quickly checked, and found that I needed a 3.5mm headset to use the mic, this is a problem for 2 reasons.  1, I don't own a wired headset  2, Far more importantly, I didn't pay over £1000 on a soundbar to play games on a headset.   I'm now left with 3 options. 1, Simply forget about voice chat (not an option)  2, Buy a £5 headset with terrible sound (also not an option)  3, Buy a decent wired headset, that will only be used for Stadia (this is an obscene waste of money, I already bought the Jaybird Tarah Pros, and the echo buds, both of which have excellent sound quality)   What we need is option 4! Use the headset jack for mic only, and let us chose the sound output.    If I'm wrong in any way, or have incorrect / out of date info, please correct me.    Come on Google, make Stadia the benchmark for the future of gaming, and get rid of bugs like this!    Add me ClassicRando#6222

I refused to buy the Founders edition of Stadia, because I listened to my PC master race and console peasant friends. How wrong I, and they were, Stadia is the future of gaming, all it needs to do is continue to increase its games catalogue, and I'm blown away by how good "Stadia Pro" has been, I've played and loved some games I never would of even thought of on my PC, and with the Stadia pro deals, I've amassed a pretty impressive catalogue that will last 1000+ hours of gaming for far far less than I would on the PC.  And with MK11 Aftermath, I've even got back into Sub Zeros shoes, now if only there was a stadia release of Tekken, I could clean house as Paul Phoenix again.    Much love to Stadia Devs and community, and keep up the good work.    Add me ClassicRando#6222
Please, for the love of God, do not add ark to Stadia, I have 8663 hours logged in the PC version, Stadia is essentially my detox from Ark.
PS, in preparation for the release of ESO add me ClassicRando#6222
Good job I was too busy putting in 8663 hours in Ark to ever play ESO on the PC, it'll give me the perfect excuse to play on Stadia. PS, is it just me, or do others want a "Stadia" emote?

Stadia is going to to replace the PC gaming rig / console in due time.

Hi, PC master race, realised what an idiot I was, now on Stadia  @ClassicRand#6222, and me if you want to play xenoverse 2,MK11, or just for the sake of it, all requests welcome.
49 mb upload speed, I'm going to look into this further, the info I got was from a comparison site, obviously outdated, or biased towards Virgin.
I've had two controllers for about 2 weeks, one unused, but the white one has just become unusable, the R1 button only works intermittently, has anyone else had this problem?

After a quick search of ISPs, I found this,  While plenty of broadband providers promise fast internet - Virgin Media offer the fastest broadband in the UK, reaching speeds up to 516Mb. BT, Plusnet, Sky and TalkTalk all offer fast broadband of around 60-70Mb to over 96% of the UK. But BT's full fibre, which can provide speeds of over 100Mb, is currently only available to about 7.35% of properties. Meanwhile, Virgin Media's network brings its brand of ultrafast to over 50% of the country.   I'd be very interested in the BT package you're on that offers a 1gig connection.
That's odd, when I checked for a decent ISP in my area (commuter distance from London) the only service over 60 mbs available to me was Virgin, I spoke to several people all over the country, and the... See more...

Have Google and Stadia Devs though about the possibility of some kind of Virgin package? Those of us in the UK are faced with 2 choices, get Virgin broadband, or suffer poor speeds, the only other contender that even comes close to Virgin and its 500 mbs speeds are Sky (I think on BT at 120, but the y're still largely unavailable outside of London) with the top speed in most areas set at 60 mbs (actual speeds vary, but are usually sub 50). A Virgin / Stadia bundle would I'm sure be a good seller, and get the brand out to the less technically minded, this would also stop any complaints from those trying to stream 4k TV, Spotify, 2 kids on games consoles etc from a more lag prone experience through lack of bandwidth.  I think the 2 would be a great fit.

1, Stadia was never meant to be "Netflix for games".  2, Speaking as a new member who is sick of yearly PC upgrades (only to play the same game my PC ran 4 years ago, ie Ark) I've found Stadia a welcome breath of fresh air. As far as money goes (you mentioned overpriced games) I just bought Xenoverse 2, FFXV and Assassin's Creed Odyssey with Season Pass for the grand total of £63 for all 3, far cheaper than on any other platform (steam for PC, PlayStation etc.) and other games that are full prices Red Dead Redemption etc, all line up with PC prices.  With the release of new games coming slowly but surely, this is a platform that can only grow, especially when games like Baldurs Gate 3, and Cyberpunk 2077 hit the platform.  If I could go back in time and buy the founders edition last year instead of a Nvidia 2080 gpu and 2 tb M.2 drive for my pc (for a little over £1000) and put the money into a top shelf TV and games for Stadia, I'd do it in a heartbeat (I remember buying my 1080 ti, thinking "this is costing me £700, but at least it'll last me a few years), the money I've spent on pc upgrades over the years is insane, as soon as the stadia catalogue gets bigger and better it'll take its rightful place as the future of gaming.   PS, The only downside to Stadia is the lack of mouse and keyboard support for chromecast.   Add me on Stadia ClassicRando#6222
