At the beginning of March my colleague gave me a Buddy Pass for me to try out Google Stadia. I followed the steps to create an account, including choosing a username etc, until I came to the payment options, for when the free three months should expire without me cancelling. I could only select a credit card which I don't have. There didn't seem to be any other payment option (coming from the Netherlands the best way for me would be to pay through a service called iDeal), so I left it at that. I was disappointed, but I was hopeful other payment options would be added in the future. A few days ago, news broke that Stadia Base was being released and not only that, everyone would be getting 2 months of Stadia Pro for free. It would take a maximum of 48 hours for everyone to thee this option. I couldn't wait, so I tried the last few days to see if the option for Base would be available and if maybe I could choose other payment methods. But today the 48h mark passed and still no option for Base, I immediately skip to the last step where I should choose a payment option. One thing I noticed, is that it still offers me the 3 months free instead of 2 months, which is the current promotion. I think it still is 'stuck' on the Buddy Pass, hence why there is no option for Base. So far the explanation, now for the questions. First off, will I even be able to setup Google Stadia Base without any payment options? If so, is my theory correct that the Buddy Pass is 'stuck' in my account, allowing only for a Stadia Pro subscription with 3 months free? Secondly, are there plans to add other payment methods instead of only credit card (hopefully iDeal, but I can also work with PayPal) and if so, when is it expected to be added?
