Not sure why I'm still giving Google/Stadia the benefit of the doubt but after giving it a bit more time and seeing some people seeming to get over this I decided to give it one last attept. The audio lag is improved, but it is still there. What's really sad is the fact that before I could at least say the gameplay and lag was still OK. I've noticed a very obvious degradation in gameplay since the last time I played via chromecast. Before it was only the audio lag on CCU that was the issue. Now I'm seeing micro stutters and occasional input lag on top of the bad audio.

So I've just cancelled my subscription. I've been in contact with Stadia customer support over twitter for the last couple of weeks and months, they have been very pro-active in contacting me, but they are never able to answer any of my questions or give me an actual update. I had one message asking me to power cycle my controller...... I had another just asking if it's any better, when I asked if they had done anything that would cause the issue to be "better" I was met with a stock reply along the lines of, "our technical people are busy working on a fix"..... Let's be real, they are clutching at straws, they have no idea why it doesn't work, or probably more likey, they can't fix it because the infrastructure simply isn't ready. We've all paid a lot of money to be glorified beta testers and honestly, I'm feeling like I've been had. This is the biggest and most viewed topic on this forum from what I can see and it's being ignored. Several of us have reached out to Chris and Grace and had no reply. This issue is falling on deaf ears and the reason I'm cancelling is because this stance of selling stuff en masse with no real way to speak to the team behind it is not the way we should be going. I've searched discord for other people reporting this only to see other people shoot them down because, "it's not happening to them"... It's pathetic.  The gaming industry in general wanted Stadia to fail becuase it threatens everything we know, PC lovers, hardware manufacturers, Sony and Microsoft's future consoles, etc. it was within Stadia's gift to prove us all wrong, and honestly, they screwed it up. Still nothing higher than 1080p on chrome, limited android phone support, multiple missing features. I continued paying my sub for 2 extra months to give them the benefit of the doubt, but let's be honest, this issue was reported in December......... We're nearly 4 months later and still nothing.    Stadia, I REALLY want you to work but I've had enough. I'm going back to my trusty PC and PS4. I really hope you address this issue and sort out your appaling comms with your customers. (We all seem to have forgotten the launch debacle!)   Good luck guys!

I hope this doesn't come off the wrong way, but this suggestion is just a bog-standard power cycle. It's the stadia equivalent of "turning it off and back on again". I appreciate everybody trying to find a solution for this, and I really hope I dont sound like I'm belittling you trying to help. What is so worrying, is after months of people reporting this, with no communication from the community managers, and repeated stock replies to people who have managed to reach out, they are still palming people off by asking them to power cycle. This is step one of pretty much any trouble shooting. The reason this annoys me is because they have, "apparently" been "hard at work" working on a fix for this (thats what I was told last time Is spoke to support). If that was the case, why the hell would they be telling people to power cycle!?!?.... I've already told Stadia I wont be extending my sub when it comes round to renew which was met with yet another stock answer. @GraceFromGoogle @ChrisFromGoogle one last ditch attempt to entice a response. Care to weigh in? This is the biggest thread on the Chromecase section of this forum and it's been completely ignored by google. You ARE going to lose a lot of comitted customers over this sort of thing. Please can somebody show us some light at the end of the tunnel?

I chased Stadia up on this on Wednesday, The reply I had was this: "We're sorry you have to go through this, Dan. We're aware of this and rest assured, our team is currently doing their best to get this fixed. We'll get back to you once we have more details to share. We appreciate your patience." It's about the closest I've had so far to acknowledging they are fixing it... I'll believe it when I see it though. For now I've been playing on my chromebook but I've activley avoided buying any games until it's repaired. Annoyingly, including Red Dead Redemption 2 even though it was on sale........

The issue is most definitely a problem with stadia on the chromecast ultra.... I have a nintendo switch, a PS4 and a blu ray player all connected to the same set up.. none of which have this problem.. In addition playing Netflix or YouTube via the Chromecast ultra doesn't suffer with the issue. It's only stadia and ONLY on CCU. There are plenty of others also with this issue. It's not our kit, set up or anything we have control over. If it was it wouldn't only be stadia with the problem

I've had a few more email exchanges with stadia on both Twitter and over email. I've tried out a few more troubleshooting steps for them, things like updating the controller firmware etc. Still no solution but I've had fairly frequent DM's on twitter assuring me it's still being investigated (unprompted DM's I have to say). I'll keep you guys updated if I get any tangible information to share. Once the Christmas Holidays are out of the way I'll be pushing for a solution.
First thing would be to check you have game mode enabled on the TV.. if it's not enabled I get quite bad input lag.. with game mode enabled the input lag is almost non existent
I had this yesterday with Borderlands 3. Rebooting the Chromecast Ultra didnt fix it. What did fix it for me was unplugging the power cord form the CCU, waiting a few seconds and then plugging it back in

I finally got a reply from Stadia on twitter about this on Wednesday last week, it's not telling us a lot other than it's been escalated and they are "on top of it". I couldn't even get a simple answer or acknowledgement to say if it's accepted to be a defect they need to fix... If I haven't heard back from them by Wednesday this week I'll be chasing them up again. I'm absolutely lost for words at the lack of communication and support with this issue.......
I've just bought it in the pro deal! Looking forward to seeing what my 4K TV can do Just hope the audio delay issue is fixed quickly so I can really enjoy it!

My Chromecast ultra is also connected directly to my sound bar, and I still suffer with this delay. It's also worth noting that I'm using some ridiculously expensive arc HDMI cables that the guy in the TV store roped me into buying so the feed between the TV and the sound system should have extremely good latency. Regarding the comment about game mode, I sort of agree, I don't think it's necessarily game mode itself that is to "blame", but it must have some connection to the root cause.. Game mode simply turns off the fancy extra processing that creates input lag in the first place (not just stadia but any gaming platform). However, turning it off does sync the audio and video up, its just EVERYTHING is then horribly delayed and the input lag is horrendous, because it achieves the sync by delaying the video feed.. Having said that I tried turning on game mode whilst streaming to netflix and the audio was still in sync. For me, it's still only Stadia that has this issue.. Interestingly enough, I just happened upon a youtube review of Stadia that actually shows this issue in action, and he doesn't even realise it! https://youtu.be/5T4RaPp6-iE?t=198 No input lag but very obvious audio delay when he fires his weapon!   EDIT: Oh and just to update that I'm STILL waiting for something back from google following my support request. So far I've tried, tweeting the official Stadia twitter account (twice), sending a DM to the Stadia twitter account. mentioning both Grace and Chris from google in this very thread, and now talking directly to google. None of these have resulted in any form of satisfactory reply. Many would have thrown the towel in and sent the whole lot back for a refund by now, its seems the loyal customers are just being ignored.

I've just spoken to somebody from google support about this. I don't have much to update other than to say they've logged it and escalated it to the next support tier up. Apparently they are going to do some internal tests to try to replicate the problem and have taken my number so I can help troubleshoot a bit more. I've also told them about this forum post and the fact there are a lot of us with this problem and that we've had no response or support so far. Fingers crossed this might start to make some progress!   EDIT: I would strongly encourage any of you having this issue to report it as well... the more reports they get, the more likely they are to do something about it: https://support.google.com/stadia/contact/stadia_chat

This is driving me insane now....Even though I was utterly convinced this is a Stadia problem, I've tried all sorts to try to find a fix for this. Swapping my ARC HDMI leads, turning off ARC and using optical cables. I've fiddled with every conceivable setting on both my TV and the soundbar. Rebooted and factory reset the chromecast... Nothing.  Nothing else connected to my TV is experiencing this issue. My Blu-ray player, PS4, Nintendo switch.. even the chromecast when streaming netflix or youtube is working fine, its ONLY Stadia that has this issue. This is seriously making me doubt Stadia. I've been doing nothing but defend it in my personal friend circles, but this is going to be a showstopper for me. I get that this is early days but at least some form of acknowledgement from google would keep me happy. I've tagged Grace earlier in this thread, I've sent the stadia twitter account a tweet and a DM. Several others have lodged formal support requests.... nothing @GraceFromGoogle@ChrisFromGooglePLEASE can you look into this and at least reassure us that this is being investigated?
@Razr  Haven't tried this myself but found this on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stadia/comments/e0c6tx/psa_switch_charging_docks_for_the_pro_controller/

Has anybody made any progress with this? I've tried sending a tweet to stadia and I've not had a reply. The only thing I have found so far is if I turn off game mode on my TV. I get really bad input lag, but the sound is then sync'd up with the visuals. I'm not sure what that's telling me but I hope somebody from google is reading this and may be able to shed some light on this issue? It's at a point where it's making Stadia unplayable on my chromecast at the moment.. @GraceFromGoogle can you help here?

Also having this issue. I have a Sony 4K TV with a Sony soundbar. The soundbar is connected to the TV via the ARC/eARC specific HDMI socket. I've tried connecting the chomecast Ultra to both the TV directly, and into the soundbar. Both have really bad audio lag. If I stream anything to the chromecast (youtube, netflix etc) the audio sync is fine, it's just stadia   However, if I plug my headphones into the stadia controller the audio is perfect.   I'm definitely going down the track of thinking there is something wrong with the sync between the Chromecast Ultra and Stadia and isn't something us consumers can fix!
