So, while I can see the cap on autosave/quicksave, I don't see my manual saves being removed. I still have the first manual save I created back on launch day after playing for 11 minutes. Mind you its not as fast to create a manual vs smacking F5, but still. That said, family share for multiple peoples. Multiple manual saves for multiple characters. Don't rely on quick/auto for that.

Dig into #4. Make sure that the specs list your video card model as having 'hardware vp9 decoding support'. My first thought is that you don't actually have hardware based decoding. In my case, that was what I ran into. I had software decoding as my GPU at the time (AMD RX480) didn't support it. I could force it with the stadia+ extension, and make it run. But I've since swapped the GPU for one that has it.

Are you experiencing screen artifacts, blurriness, etc? Or are you thinking more in line with comparing stadia to other platforms visual quality, and wanting to change graphics settings/shadow quality/anti-aliasing for example to 'max'? If its the latter, that's not an option with stadia. The former however, tends to point towards a connection quality issue, including internet, chrome extensions, etc. Which leads us to trying things like an incognito session, resetting chrome flags, removing extensions, etc. Depending on your hardware there have been some that have noted forcing 4K on a 1080p session results in an improvement in visual fidelity. I'm not sure off hand if this was mostly those with 1440p/2K screens or not. So if you want to explore that route you can load up the Stadia+ extension and change its settings to force 4K.   And additionally, you can always peruse the reddit post for stadia troubleshooting. https://www.reddit.com/r/Stadia/comments/gcqqec/ive_updated_the_troubleshooting_infographic_with/   Also never hurts to check what the stadia speed test reports, while these are subjective tests, it might highlight an issue with your path to stadia while other services on your provider are fine. Generally mine is all over the place on a 1Gbps Fiber connection, though here lately I've began  trending up to 500Mbps on this test in particular. https://projectstream.google.com/speedtest

Just as a side note: I've seen lag on OBS too, but in my case I have an AMD 5500XT GPU. So I had to switch to x264 software encoding instead of hardware and it resolved the lag.

I've not ran across a list of confirmed setups yet... but generally:   OBS works when capturing the browser. External capture devices using the chromecast is where the issue is. If you do a quick search on youtube for "how to record stadia on chromecast with elgato" you'll get some guidance on it.  Generally speaking, they use splitters with hdcp bypass before the input to the capture device.   Outside of that I've not kept track of what devices might be out there that would work, as any streaming or cap I would do would be direct on the computer itself with OBS.   Good luck!
shh shh, i forgot I had that installed.   <ahem>   "Put on stadia+ and gain filtering."
There is an "eye" on the game tile, click that and it will hide the game from view. To show hidden games, click the "show hidden" option at the top of the list.

Tech to enable this already exists, such as Citrix XenApp (streaming seamless apps), AWS Workspaces/Azure WVD/VMware Horizons (Virtual Machine // seamless or published apps). At one point OnLive sold a "desktop" service, but that didn't last just as their streaming service didn't. (They also got slapped by Microsoft for using a Desktop OS, before moving to Server.) Do I wish to see Stadia open up to that? Not really. I would rather it focus on its market. Beyond the technical characteristics of it being Linux based where most apps that would fill this void would be Windows. Should there be a service that exists to enable this for home users, similar to how business operate their own? Hard to say. Most apps that need that penetration across platforms shift to PWA's or some other web enabled / cross platform stack. But if there's enough of a market it could exist. Never hurts to theory-craft...

Yes, games must be ported to Stadia. To oversimplify it, it is linux based not windows, and is not simply a VM running. The major game engine providers support it as a deliverable target now, other engines of course requires work. And then of course each game has to pass a certification process. etc etc. What you are thinking is more what Geforce Now is, which is literally a VM running a restricted windows session allowing you to play windows games you already own from supported stores like Steam.
oh man... I played way .. way... way too much panzer dragoon when I was younger. So of course I'll probably play way too much of it again. thanks... thanks so much.

I completed that tomb and didn't have any issue with burning the second barricade. I'd have to think back to if I did anything unique on it, but you can always try shooting above it or on its upper edge/wall or the planks behind it. Lob a couple at it at the same time.   good luck.

I would tend to lean towards not.... but Stadia does have code redemption for this type of purpose. (In browser session under stadia settings, then redeem code.) The Bethesda site for pre-orders is platform agnostic, last I looked. But it also didn't list Stadia. I would direct this question to bethesda's support to get clarification on what they plan to do with preorders through their site. Then you can plan to keep/cancel based on what they say.  Though in general, pre-order for day one access isn't something needed for Stadia. But access to the pre-order exclusives are... so it will be interesting to see how publishers treat this platform in general. IE, do they adopt the 'launch edition' naming that includes pre-order exclusives? Or do we actually pre-order and redeem codes? But that's banter.... Good luck on getting your answer though!

Honestly, I had all but the latest on Steam already. (TR 1, 2) But I repurchased them (during sale pricing) on Stadia, including 3. (Yes, purchased. I did not do a refund on them just because they showed up as free games. I had got my value out of them.) So at this point, I've played and completed TR 1, 2 and 3. If you like those kinds of action games, then it's a decent series. Their story isn't bad either, if you pay attention to it. But like everything, not everyone will like the same stuff. I say, they were good and you should try them. Now, i'm off to BL3.

@Chufu Not showing 'claimed' after its no longer a pro game provides you the chance the outright purchase the game should you no longer want to be a pro subscriber but still have access to the game. So it makes sense in one way, maybe an 'in library' or 'claimed' badge can be added while leaving the store in the position to allow a purchase.

**ranting opinion** Most are dependent on the game developers either finishing up the new releases (Cyberpunk 2077, watchdogs legion, etc.) and porting the an older game for release (ESO, Division 2, etc.). While Google has resources that can get embedded in some cases or work short times with their partners, its really up to the game studio to adopt, commit resources to, and release their game on Stadia. (Though yes, Google has done wonders working with the major engine developers to enhance their products to support Stadia, that doesn't mean it was available to smaller dev teams yet. Unity for example didn't plan for wider developers to gain access until now.) So, voicing what you like here might catch Google's eye, but also direct your wishes at the game studios who have a product you want to see over on the platform. That said, it'll happen in time.

I swear I replied to this but here's a TLDR; version.   No it hasn't scratched my phone or the controller, though I can see where it 'could' scratch the controller. The claw is more than just a hunk of plastic. It has some padding on the sides that touch the phones and the controller. (Padding... grip maybe?) But the edge of the piece that you get onto the controller is without.... this edge can rub against the controller when mounting. (You use a slight bit of flex to get it on the controller.) The side with the phone actually expands one two metal rods with interior retention. Less of a chance there in my opinion. Very comfortable though, and you don't see the glowing Stadia button while playing.

I haven't seen mine get scuffed or scratched by it yet, but I've also been super careful putting it on and off. Not for the sake of the controller, but because this thing is rather snug of a fit on both the controller and the phone. So I find myself just being careful with it.   I can however see how it will scratch or scuff the back meshing. I have a spot on the back that is from when I first got the controller, it's a very light scuff. But all of my other controllers have some sort of scuff or scratch after time too. (Xbox, ps4, etc.) The only one that doesn't is my steam controller because it lives in a little case. (Which the Stadia controller fits in too so it might just get it instead.)   In terms of build, these things have some rubber inlay/padding on the sides that touch both the controller and the phone. The pad leaves a faint 'spot' where it touches the controller. But it wipes away easily. The only peace that would drag and scratch in my opinion is the small lips that sits on the charger and the mic sides. As you slightly flex the edges to get it on the controller, these non padded edges of the claw scrape against the controller.   Now is it comfortable? Yes, it's surprisingly nice considering it being in front of the controller buttons. But that's also a benefit I didn't think of. The glowing Stadia button is not in view when using it, so if you are like me and annoyed at distracting things, that's one less to deal with.   That all said, the claw is very sturdy, excessively strong maybe.   The packaging it came in is also designed for shelf sale, so I wouldn't be surprised if some batches don't make it to stores with other 'made for google' products.
