Hi everyone, Hope I can find someone to enlighten me here. In short, I have been using Stadia on and off since the start. I recently tried to take my Stadia on the go but had difficulty connecting my Stadia Controller to my Pixel 4a . Details I have the founder's edition controller and had successfully connected it to my previous Pixel 3a via USB-C in the early days when wireless controller connection was not supported on the phone. I have been then using this controller wirelessly at home on various screens. Only until recently I want to play cyberpunk 2077 on my phone when I am away from home. I soon realize that the touch screen controller is unrealistic to play the game meaningfully, so I tried to connect the controller. Apparently, if I am away from home, Stadia controller won't have a WiFi connection. However, when I plug it in to my Pixel 4a, neither side seems to behave as connected. The phone is still asking me if I want to use touch screen controller, and the controller is still flashing orange light meaning no WiFi connection. Doesn't matter if I connect my controller before or after launching Stadia/game on my phone. I remember when I connect Stadia controller to my previous Pixel 3a, it automatically launches the Stadia app. That's not the case with my Pixel 4a. If I don't turn on the controller before plugging in, the controller behaves like it's charging with a solid orange light and no visual change on my phone other than the battery percentage is visually going down much faster. If I turn the controller on beforehand, it simply goes from blinking white to blinking orange meaning it can't connect to WiFi and no change on the phone. I tried to change some Android settings as shown below, but none of them makes a difference. I also tried to use the controller connection button in the Stadia app, but it simply says my phone is not connected to WiFi. On a separate experiment, I connected my phone to a guest WiFi and clicked the controller connection button, it won't recognize the controller if it wasn't turned on before plugging in. If I do turn it on beforehand, the Stadia controller will show up on the screen but no operational. It is only for setup. I am wondering if Stadia controller support playing on phone through mobile network via USB-C at all, or is it something else? Update: I made another attempt. I established the connection of the controller to a mobile hotspot on another phone. If I keep my phone on LTE but leave controller on the WiFi, it won't connect at all, by USB cable or link code.
