Same here. The game seems to run terribly on Stadia compared to the other games I have played. Just constant lock ups and freezes during gameplay. Although my stream is 58-62fps, the actual game running on the Stadia hardware is running bad.  @ChrisFromGoogle is something going to be done about this?

Stadia is already less attractive to new users atm because it can't demonstrate better performance vs the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X (last gen).  It depends how complicated the optimisation is really. Graphics presets should be something they can adjust quite easily given that it is all cloud based. One major advantage of cloud based is that it should be able to evolve and be upgraded far more regularly than static consoles if proper investment is put into it. We'll have to see how they implement hardware upgrades for Stadia. I doubt Google will upgrade all of their hardware at the same time, so there's bound to be restrictions on who can use the improved hardware when they first roll it out, such as 4k only. Whether the devs are willing to have 2 separate versions with different presets/frame rates while they do this roll out is another question, you'd HOPE this would be the case because otherwise it shows massive limitations to the potential future regularity of hardware improvements. Stadia isn't going to stand out if it's always a step behind consoles. Edit: and before you say anything about Stadia not trying to be a step ahead of consoles, watch about 1min of this https://youtu.be/BeFnQrgtZ9k?t=192

Well..... https://youtu.be/BeFnQrgtZ9k?t=192  They did mislead fairly badly if you watch that link for about 1 min. 10.7 Teraflops is still more powerful than the PS5 which has 10.28 Teraflops, clearly this hasn't translated at all to actual performance as Stadia was tied and in some cases weaker in performance than the last gen consoles, especially when you take into account the reduced visual fidelity from viewing a stream instead of a direct native feed. Having said that, OP could have just checked youtube to see comparisons before buying into Stadia, it's been pretty well known that Stadia doesn't produce any advantages in graphical performance to date. Also in terms of value for money the subscription for Stadia is only going to be good value for money if they are upgrading their hardware infrastructure and producing improved graphical performance on a more regular basis than the consoles. Because for example if it's another 5 years till the next consoles release, that's $600 of Stadia Pro Subscription (with no physical disc games or console to resell after). And for that $600 you may be paying more to avoid data caps on broadband and also playing games at a much lower graphics preset, lower frame rates, lower base resolution. It's good if you can't afford the lump sum of a console. If Stadia doesn't announce some major improvements to compete with the next gen consoles soon, you may as well get a console at this point. The fact that Stadia hasn't announced anything to combat the console hype, I would suggest it's going to be at least another year before we see any improvements.

It's not dead but soon they need to show some new hardware investments and prove that the performance can scale over time like they demonstrated. They messed up their initial launch by advertising this platform as being far more powerful than consoles, they failed to prove that claim then, and they are in for a tricky time proving to even get close to on par with current gen. My prediction is they will upgrade part of their cloud computing with new custom AMD Big Navi architecture chips. They will then put that improved performance behind the Stadia Pro Subscription or possibly make a more expensive subscription tier for it if they need to limit how many people can access it.

You say it has more power than the PS5 but devs did port over the games to Stadia and had full control over what graphics settings to apply and frame rates to apply. Some of them already said that they couldn't achieve the frame rates with the highest presets.  I'll believe it's as powerful as the PS5 when I actually see it in game and not as a theoretical marketing term. So far the comparisons even when compared to last gen aren't really favourable to Stadia.
