Hello all, I spent almost 3 years playing on Stadia, some times heavily and exclusively on Stadia (even though I have somewhat decent gaming laptop, Xbox Series S and PS5) but Stadia was something different. I was also one of the top ahcievement hunters (within top 10 according to StadiaHunters.com). So I thought we all should tell Google why we started and what we will be losing because of this shutdown. Simplicity First of all, I absolutely loved the simplicity - I normally work in the office (outsource things so really, my work would only involve spending a few hours a month to receive money and pay money). I had a ton of time so I could play in "office". When back at home (different room, actually), I would turn my TV on and would play using CCU. It was super amazing and if I'm fast enough - I don't lose any progress and just continue where I left off in "office". Different gameplay Of course, some games were easier with keyboard and mouse (shooters, mostly) while other games were easier with controller (adventure games like AC games and driving games). Humanity was almost unplayable with controller because mouse is so much easier! Curated games Of course, Stadia lacked a ton of great triple A games but it also didn't have crappy 10 minute achievement/trophy completion games ... My favourites were AC and FC franchises so I was satisfied ... I never was into competitive games anyway ... Some cool indies I discovered because of Stadia Pro. I would have never actually played or considering Calico, Lake, Figment, SpongeBob, Destroy All Humans!, Saints Row (yes, the first Saints Row I played was Saints Row The Third Remastered as it was heavily discounted on Stadia or was it a Pro games, I can't remember. It's strange as someone with 25 years of experience but never played Saints Row game which is amazing, I'd say). What you claim - you keep Stadia Pro was different from any other competitor such as GamePass. Games would rotate. Games would also rotate on Stadia but whatever you claimed on Pro - you'd keep for as long as you are a Pro member. I easily claimed 150 games or so. That's probably easily £x,xxx saved due to Pro membership. Play first No downloading games! You just buy and play straight away. I remember when ACV came out, by the time my friends downloaded the game I was already raiding England! Quick fix Of coourse, no updates means that you can launch a game within a minute. Got a break? Play Stadia. Also, ability to play 4K games on a phone was something super amazing. So much better than playing native mobile games ... and no downloads, no storage requirements ... So yeah, it was amazing 3 years I had. I still should receive nearly £3k from Stadia refunds so I will be building a proper gaming PC (not laptop but rig!). While I'm probably gonna quit achievements hunting as it was such a grind when you spend 100-150 hours on a single game ... I invite you all to share your positive experiences ... I'd do this on Reddit but people are toxic there so ... xD
