I just tried to use the performance settings on my MacBook. There, I'm stuck at 1080p again. There is no 1440p option and I cannot select 4K output! Just to clarify, The MacBook has a 1600p resolution and 1440p output used to work on 'Best visual quality' settings before this update. Please address this or add a dedicated 1440p option on Chrome! Thanks!
Thanks for the update! By the way: It's interesting to see that there is a performance option in the iOS App too. I hope we'll get to run our games there as well in the near future!

Many people using Stadia on their TV via Chromecast Ultra have problems with A/V sync. In a lot of occasions this is due to the 5.1 PCM audio on Stadia that only the latest TV's with eARC can forward/passthrough to external audio systems (in case no A/V receiver is used). In all other cases, the TV has to convert the 5.1 audio to stereo PCM before outputting it e.g. to a soundbar. This results in additional audio processing and perceivable audio delay that cannot be fixed. There is an option to enable/disable HDR in the Stadia app. There is an option to limit the output to 1080p with balanced settings. Why is there no option yet to switch between stereo or 5.1 audio? The automatic EDID detection is cool, but it only tells the Chromecast Ultra that my TV is able to accept 5.1 PCM, not that I'm actually able to listen to it with internal or external speakers without delay!

There is more than one problem here I guess.   First of all, Destiny 2 has some audio delay on certain effects (e.g. jumping and hitting the ground again), while other parts of the audio can be synced if you play it on a PC via Chrome-browser in stereo sound. So there is an in game sound issue that can't be fixed by the user. The 2nd problem are the audio sync issues on Chromecast Ultra that many people experience. The CCU will most likely send uncompressed 5.1 audio (PCM) to your TV. If your TV can process this at all, it can only forward/passthrough it to a soundbar/audio system via ARC HDMI but not via optical out. If you're useing optical output the TV first has to convert the 5.1 audio to stereo PCM before outputting it (regardless of TV model). This means it needs time for processing etc. The soundbar/audio system itself then probably has to upscale/convert the audio again to match its own channel layout. All this means additional audio processing on top of existing in game audio delay which results in a very disappointing experience on a TV/CCU setup like this. It's better and less noticable in other games but the main problem on Chromecast Ultra can't really be fixed yet unless you get a setup to match all of Stadia's (unwritten) requirements for 5.1 audio.

I finished the main campaign so far and I've got to say that I still had a good time with the game. I'd call it awesome if the Stadia port wasn't as unpolished and buggy as it is. I don't think that many of the issues will be fixed at all. There's probably just not enough money to make on Stadia yet to justify the development effort...

Most new games from the major publishers will come to Stadia in the future, I've no doubt about it. What I really miss is Activision as a publisher! They have not announced anything for Stadia yet.   To name a game though... Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered!!!   I would die to play this on Stadia! The announcememt actually made me rethink to go back to console gaming, even though Stadia works wonderfully well in my environment and I truly like it! Sounds stupid, but I would buy one of the next gen consoles just to play Tony Hawk again!

The controls of The Crew 2 feel heavy at points but this depends on the type of vehicle and is partly intended. Of course this doesn't rule out additional lag caused by various reasons, but I experienced none so far. An in-game setting that might help you is the dead zone adjustment for the left and right stick. Setting this to 0 makes inputs feel more precise.

I believe many people bought Borderlands 3 during the latest sale and I think it would be good to collect all bugs, the game currently has on Stadia. Maybe Gearbox is able to fix them soon. Here's my list after only 2 hours playtime:   The logo splashes of 2K, Gearbox and AMD at the beginning of the game play back very low-res and choppy. Their audio is extremely loud compared to the game itself and everything else on Stadia. When logging into my user account, the game freezes after about 5 secs and may or may not throw me into the main menu thereafter. The HDR and screen size settings don't save properly. Changes only apply to one game session. After ending the game and loading it back up again, they are back to the default values. All other setting changes are saved correctly. During gameplay the game stutters a lot! (in both 4K/30 and 1080p/60) I wouldn't call it frame drops, rather visual micro-freezes. This happens especially when a new area is loaded, when you aim with a weapon and randomly during in-game cutscenes. FMV playback (the comic intro scene) is very choppy. It looks like it's running at 10-15 fps only. The audio is stable though. Lots and lots of texture pop-in, which is quite embarrassing on server class SSD's.   I can safely say that none of the issues are related to my internet connection or the way Stadia performs at my home. The game seems to be a lot of fun otherwise, but the experience is not where it should be yet. Not even for 50% off.

I've experienced the same problem today, after playing MK11 for 3 months already. I believe to know the reason though... In my case only the Founders Edition Controller has an issue with the R2 trigger. Now MK11 detects even the slightest analog inputs and has no dead zone for triggers and sticks. So as soon as you move them by 1% the input is detected and the command will be executed. The problem are the controllers themselves... after useing the Founders Edition Controller for only 3 months, the R2 trigger doesn't fully retract again after pressing it. So it's constantly stuck at like 2-5% input and this causes the MK11 menus to go wild sometimes...   If you have GRID and want to check out if you have the same problem... go to the control settings in this game. It shows you exactly by how many % the anolog triggers or sticks are out of their standard position. In my case it's up to 10% for R2. Only if i push the back of the button upwards it goes back to 0% = no input.   I hope this clarifies the situation. No game bug, just a bad built quality on the controllers.
The patch is live and the audio output works again! Let's enjoy some Kombat!

Do you play your Stadia games on a Wifi connection or via ethernet? What is your ping to the closest Google Cloud location? (gcping.com) Is there anything you can improve about your home network and bandwith useage? I purchased Trials Rising back in November and it's the game that actually convinced me to stick with Stadia and to sell my console! I've played it nearly every day since and I've had zero issues. I used to have it on my XBOX One and it plays as well, if not better on Stadia in terms of input lag and general performance. The input lag is a tiny bit higher when playing on my MacBook via Wifi, but it's still perfectly playable. I have a private 1 GBit/s FTTH AON connection with around 10ms ping to the nearest GC location, from Germany, so I can only judge by quite optimal conditions however.

I just bought Ghost Recon Breakpoint, which is my 1st game on Stadia to run at only 30 fps. When I first started the game it ran as it should. Like playing a 30 fps game on consoles, a little slower, but enjoyable. I played Trials Rising after that (60fps) before going back to Breakpoint. Unfortunately it was completely unplayable, when I was back in the game. The visual output was full of judder. It seemed like the frametimes went up and down constantly. It was probably still 30 fps and still responsive concerning my inputs, but it just looked terribly wrong. I checked my internet connection rating which was still excellent. (FTTH 500 Up/down via Ethernet; everything ran flawless over the last weeks) To double check, I started Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which has a 60 fps and a 30 fps mode. It was perfectly smooth in the 60 fps mode, but when I switched to the resolution/30 fps mode, I had the same problem. Judder all over the place that was just game breaking. Toggling back to 60 immediately solved this again. My question is... does anybody else have this issue? Is there something in the Chromecast settings which could improve this? Or ist it just stream/Stadia related? Expert knowledge appreciated

That's the native game resolutions I was talking about. Again it's my perception and I didn't pixel count. I know the visual difference between 1080p and 4K though if I see it. Destiny 2 e.g. looks terribly blurry on Stadia and just doesn't have the fine details in the picture. You can tell that it's 1080p upscaled. Besides Shadow of the Tomb Raider and maybe Trials Rising all mentioned games probably render lower than native 4K but have an extremely detailed and clear picture. Upscaled form 1800p or so and maybe dynamic but they look excellent on a well calibrated 4K set. Destiny 2 does not! I used to have the XBOX One X versions of Trials Rising, MK11 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider and they all look as good (or extremely close to it) from a normal viewing distance on Stadia. That's the Stadia experience I was hoping for! Sad that the selection of games which live up to that promise is relatively limited so far.

Well it's true that it may not seem to be a smart business move for Google. But it would be one to regain some trust from the customers. Stadia itself works far better for me than I ever expected but it's not great that I don't know which games to buy without Digital Foundry checking them first.   To provide everybody with some information about the games I bought though...   GRID (close to 4K with variable resolution; mostly solid 60fps; HDR) Mortal Kombat 11 (close to 4K; 60 fps, even the fatalities etc. that were 30 fps on consoles; HDR) Gylt (variable resolution up to 4K; mostly stable 60 fps; HDR) Trials Rising (4K; 60 fps; no HDR) Shadow of the Tomb Raider (4K/30fps or around 1440p/60fps; HDR)   I didn't pixel count anything but this is what my eyes perceived

I would really appreciate an honest information about the native rendering resolution, the framerate and as well the availability of HDR of all games in the Stadia shop/app. At least 60fps is very important for streaming at low latency and buying a game first and then finding out that certain features are not available is far from ideal.
Thanks for the info! I wrote a feedback mail including this suggestion. Let's hope the feature becomes reality!

Is there a way to remove or hide games from the Stadia library? I tried out all the PRO games so far but came away rather disappointed, therefore I'd like to have them out of my library again. Once redeemed, does one have to keep them? I didn't find any feature for hiding games yet, but would really appreciate this!
